Well yeah but then the whole "Tom will sign every vinyl today" deal would be a scam and their company would be committing fraud. If Tom was that lazy, he wouldn't have agreed to sign them all to begin with lol. I mean what's his "to-do" list today? -Sign 300 records -Email Podesta's secretary -Donut break -Make an Instagram post -Skype Suzanne to see how Poet 2 is going -Delete the Instagram post9 points

I'm surprised that Feldmann has the capability to help write a song in the 6/8 time signature.4 points

The thing I don't like about Offspring is they haven't really developed their sound. Similar with Rise Against. Offspring have sounded the same since the 90's and it's tiresome for me. There have been a couple of songs I've liked by them in the past 16 years though.2 points

I have slight hope for that track but I am really, super worried about it sucking.2 points

The precise reason why I can't get into The Offspring is because of the grating vocals.2 points

I remember being kind of bummed when I first got Tom's signature. He signed it "T."2 points

Like this band acknowledges the release of airplay singles... These days, unless it's a lead single or a promo single preparing the way for an album and becoming available on digital stores there is no such thing as a "release date". Plus, the video coming out is meaningless for radio airplay unless it becomes viral or unless we are talking about the most successful artists of the moment... It is flopping so far or maybe in the end it will just be a slow start, only time will tell. Anyway, I'm definitely not melting down since (like most people here) I can handle my favorite band being criticized or simply discussed (which is the case) without melting down and saying things shouldn't be scrutinized.2 points

The Offspring has to be one of the worst, most irritating bands of all time.2 points

I love Jeff lol. He is super trolly but keeps it real. He calls out terrible calls too while the other commentators always try to defend the refs. Mark Jackson is super annoying during Warriors games..always sounds so bitter he's such a baby imo. Tonight he was going on about how bad we should all feel for Roberson, kept going on during every play in the 4th about how elite of a defender he is and how he's one of a kind defensive talent...it's like dude these are adults, they're professional athletes, we aren't going to sympathize that much with a dude getting paid millions because he is absolutely awful at free throws. I can't understand how a wing can shoot 40% from the stripe, that's terrible, and no one should feel sorry for him.. I used to like Breen, I do like the bang call, but lately I've grown tired of him as well, he tries really hard to overhype every play, even if it's not appropriate, like Westbrook grabs a normal defensive rebound - "OHHH!! WestBROOK! Just skied for the rebound, thats his EIGHTH! Oh man Westbrook just elevated on that rebound! My goodness!!"2 points

It wasn't boring just the worst display of basketball and everything wrong with the current NBA compiled into 4 minutes. Flopping/flailing and being rewarded, hack a Shaq (on Roberson), 3 point rip through fouls, Mark Jackson commentating, horrible reffing, going for fouls instead of scores, low IQ basketball by both Westbrook and Harden our two premier players. They even implemented a new segment to the broadcast where they interviewed a former referee on why they're right and everyone else is wrong. It was just so incredibly ugly. The league won't fix rule exploitation going on because it would hurt a lot of their 'top players'2 points

Obvious is such a good song by the way. One of blink's best. That guitar tone....2 points

Oh i forgot about Lillian. Such a good song in 6/8!! I just hope this new song is only half as good as anything on WYHSB. half would be good enough1 point

Pretty much this. I really feel this way about a lot of the 90's bands. But Offspring and Rise Against are definitely...consistently consistent in their sound. Though I liked Rage and Grace for a quick minute in college and still play it every now and then but I just dunno if I'd check out any of their other records.1 point

For me blink was a bridge band that eventually led me to more vintage punk bands. So blink is like punk-lite. Or like weed. Not everyone who smokes weed goes on to do hard drugs but those who regularly do hard drugs 99.9% smoked weed before. Though blink is my favorite band and Untitled is my favorite record, I really don't listen to many other pop-punk bands the way I do blink. It's an anomaly. Though I'll say this... had Untitled not come out I feel there's a good chance I would've only ever listened to Enema or TOYPAJ for nostalgia value and probably held blink in lesser regard (the way all the casual fans we get annoyed with at shows view blink) because I do feel those records are harder to relate to these days. Weird to sing "wish my friends were 21" when you're 29. Or complaining that you're old at 23. Or singing about running away to Vegas with 17-year olds girls. The songs are still fun, but I don't live and die by their lyrics the way I did when I was out skating as a teenager around town with my buddies. I think that's why the ole smiley face record is so great. It feels ageless. It's just too bad blink could never put it together again a second time after Untitled. And this reversion with Cali, to a more basic, generic pop-punk sound definitely feels a step backwards to me. +44 came as close as any to a decent, heartfelt follow-up to the direction I was hoping for after Untitled but I've accepted what blink is now and will just have to hope there's a few gems in the next batch of songs.1 point

It's always interesting to see how Blink is like a sweet spot in the middle of a ton of musical tastes. I feel like Modern Baseball is WAYYY more similar to Blink than Linkin Park is, but it just goes to show how Blink roped in fans of all genres I suppose1 point

I've listened just enough to think to myself "ha, this band blows" and never think about them again!1 point

Man this thread made go back and listen to old LP. Haven't heard the songs in over a decade! They have some decent shit even though it seemed to be targeted at fat angry emo chicks.1 point

Ya'll need to leave Hubie alone. His analysis is a little slow these days, but his voice just is the NBA to me. Mark Jackson is by far the worst.1 point

You guys being sarcastic? The song is taking the piss out of pop music. I love The Offspring. Everything after 90s was a bit meh - but Smash is one of the best punk albums ever made imo.1 point

He must have been sweating bullets when they came up with the idea to do a 6/8 song. Skiba secretly shat himself too. All the while Travis is like 'what's the big deal?'1 point

Actually Ilan joned AvA in the end of 2011. He also participated on the Stomping The Phantom Brake Pedal EP. Then, he and Tom wrote TDW (not sure if even Dave was around anymore). He basically was an AvA member in full force way before TDW was written. Not being a huge fan of the band, I consider that album fruit of that band, consisting in Tom and Ilan in that period. Not the same thing as Feldy affair, to be honest.1 point

Hopefully because it will be the final single. If they don't use Sober as a single it's a huge mistake imo.1 point

Rule exploitation is killing the game. It's ridiculous. Harden is scum and the league embraces him? Thunder really know how to choke though.1 point

BTW i fucking hope the experimental songs on deluxe are good. They really have to evolve on the next record. Don't really care if its dark and angsty or with 80s new wave/pop influences for all i care (would actually be cool). But just something progressive and real fresh.1 point
