  3. The AVA Movement FB group is full of people right now saying "I have no idea what investing is or what it means but I want to invest someone help me." I'm not making some stupid joke right now. I'm a member of the group and that is what's happening.

  7. And as an admin I’ve been telling people for the love of god not to. But they just say yea well if you just see it as a donation to help Tom make cool stuff and not as an investment to get your money back. You dumb fucks, an investment means you likely won’t get the cool stuff either, not just your money back. And why would you just give Tom DeLonge, a guy with 50 million dollars in net worth at least, a donation of 200 dollars. And 100k of your investments has to go directly to him. You’re literally giving him money for no fucking reason. I want to rip my hair out.

  8. Accompanied with a 4 track EP for each invention! As well as graphic novels detailing the adventures of some bullshit character using telepathy! Never mind he'll never come close to achieving these things

  9. I think that's the funniest thing about all of this. Tom Delonge honest to god thinks he is going to invent telepathy and warp drives. I'm guessing all those "scientists" listed are just creepy conspiracy idiots like Tom.

  14. Dude. He is listing light speed travel, engineering the space time metric, and telepathy as the stated goals of the company LOL this is too much. these poor kids.

  15. This is going to end very poorly for Toms reputation. Kids are going to invest $200 with no idea how investments work and then nothing is going to happen just like the last two years of to the Stars and his remaining fans will turn on him.

  16. The people who invest in this PBC are going to get burned so badly. I feel sorry for the kids who get swindled here. That's a lot of money

  18. Wow wow wow this is incredibly stupid. As a defender of Tom most of the time I have no words for this.... I mean if Tom wants to fund research for UFOs that's fine but what makes him think the government will just let him discover/share info that is/will most likely be classified. Makes no sense and no amount of money in the world will allow us to reach planets with Earth like conditions any faster than NASA or any legit company that is already pouring billions of dollars into this. This is so bad Tom goddammit. Also, can we put those silly rumors to rest he will be rejoining Blink? This is going to take up all his time

  19. They already have TTS Academy t-shirts/hoodies out lol: https://tothestars.media/collections/new Reminds me of the "Derek Zoolander Center for kids who can't read good and wanna learn to do other stuff good too" idea.

  20. I noticed that. They have no idea what they are sending money for but hey it's for tom right?

  21. Straight up robbery as far as I'm concerned. His fan base is a bunch of dumb kids. He knows this and is taking advantage of it to rid himself of his company's debt. And then, even if by some miracle his company succeeds, he still rakes in nearly all of the profits.

  22. fucking pathetic. i'm all for the dude doing what "makes him happy" these days - can't blame anyone for that. though he's now acquiring his fans money without even giving them a shitty t shirt or shower curtain. come on tom.

  23. So I highly recommend reading this company offering doc. Everything about to the Stars finances is now public. They’ve received loans of 800k through the end of this calendar year which isn’t unormal for a business like this, but your investment will be used to pay this loan back. In other words, you’re paying to pay to the Stars loans back that they acquired in 2015 and 2016, which is dumb as fuck. Also, Tom and his wife own at least 65 million shares of this company. If they raised fifty million doalls and delivered 250,000,000 shares to the public, Tom will still own about a third of the company. Also to the Stars is required to pay Tom a royalty of minimum 100k per year (it’s more if sales are good because he’s getting a 15% royalty.) in order to use his brands and ip for merchandise.

  25. So that's what Tom meant when he was saying he is going to need our help... lol They want to raise 50 million, and 7.5 million of that is for salaries through 2019...this document is fascinating lmao.

  26. Yea it’s the ultimate off the deep end. As an investor, I would immediately say nope when reading the public benefit risk clause. They’re saying their only revenue is going to be Toms media projects which will be used to fund their nonsensical research projects that are unmonetizable. Plus pretty sure one of those clauses says they basically have to pay Tom 100k a year for using his likeness.

  29. Here is the fine print I'm digging into https://to-the-stars-web-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/downloads/TTSA_Offering_Circular_092917_vLAUNCH_DAY.pdf Already on page 5: "To date, our revenues have not been sufficient to fund operations. Thus, until we can generate sufficient cash flows to fund operations, we aredependent on raising additional capital through debt and/or equity transactions"

  30. For only ~$200 you can get all the sekrets!!!! It's actually hilarious that Poet Anderson/Strange Times are even mentioned on that website LOL. It even says "Strange Times Record in Development". Like I totally understand Tom putting together a board of people to research and do some cool projects, but please separate the "Academy" from the normal TTS stuff.

  32. That EP was not 'experimenting musically' it was a thrown together cash grab. take the songs, shove it on acoustic and sprinkle electric mess on top does not make a decent 'Acoustic' EP. I hate California but that EP is definitely not an example of Tom trying new things or being particularly talented. Of Nightmares did a much better job of that.

  33. Yeah no new blink news means more ongoing discussions on their most recent output. Shocking.

  34. Eh, it's just that there's nothing exciting going on with blink right now. The second they make an announcement or release something new we'll have all sorts of new things to complain about!!

  38. I bet Mark doesn't even have Tom's phone # in his phone, I don't think people fully grasp the seriousness of replacing him in the first place. This isn't "hiatus", this is "replaced". They do not like each other, do not want to work with each other. The only way I see it happening is if Skiba has a change of heart and says he's Alk-3 for life and bails, or tragically dies, and after years of inactivity they decide to do one more cash grab... Mark/Travis seem super happy, both working with Feldy all the time, both seem to love Matt... I just don't see them both dropping Matt/Feldy, and welcoming the loon back into the band when they've proven they can succeed without him (even if you hate Cali it was a success). If Cali and the tours failed hardcore, it would be a different story. I think at this point in their careers they're just totally fine with what they are doing now, pumping out a Blink album every couple years, tour, and help other bands in their downtime. Sounds like a pretty sweet life to me, much better than e-mailing your guitarist's manager to see if he's going to show up at band practice Tuesday.

  39. It's some of the lyrics but I think the main problem is Toms vocals on the chorus. I adore the song but every time you get "LLLUUUHOOOVE! LLUUUOHVE IS SO DANGERRUSSSS" it's cringeworthy, I think that's why most people hate it. personally I have a soft spot for it. Parking Lot is hated more than other California dross because it's the only one that goes completely for the 'lets sound like every other modern pop punk band' sound. like theres no traces of blink, or even trying to emulate blink in it, it's blink trying to sound like neck deep or whatever the hell those bands are called. It isn't the worst, I still think Sober is worse, but it is definitely deserving the hate.

  40. Or just didn't even credit him on the album to fuck with everyone. That or if he came on stage live unannounced I'd probably shit myself. No matter how bad he sounded or fat he's gotten.

  41. I could use some good blink drama right now, I don’t even care what it is. Internal fighting in blink? Tom trying to come back? Matt slept with Mark’s wife? It will be more entertaining than California at least.

  42. Haha I roomed with a bunch of hippies in college for 3 years. They hated blink. One time I played Fallen Interlude while we were smoking and they bobbed their heads and enjoyed it. "Who is this band?" they asked. And then Go started playing and I hear, "Why the fuck does blink-182 sound like a jam band!?!?" Pretty great really.
