  1. I don't think I grew out of blink, I think this is crap record musically/creatively. I prefer honesty from my favorite bands, and nothing on Cali/DLX feels half as honest as their previous efforts to me.

  2. We grew out of Blink? Blink themselves grew out of simple pop almost 15 years ago before crawling back to a shitty derivative shell of their former sound! Love ya @Ghent feels good to be having these conversations again it's been awhile

  3. Yeah I think Tom lost grip on reality around 2005 and nothing I've seen since then has made me think he ever got it back. My personal hope is that he got abducted by aliens around that time and they replaced him with an alien imposter (who happens to be deteriorating at a rate faster than humans) and someday they'll return him.

  4. some news! california and bored to death have both been certified gold by the RIAA. these represent blink's first certifications since 2005 -- their first gold album since untitled (which went on to go double platinum) and first singles since i miss you and feeling this.

  5. Decided to listen to the entire Blink discography again these past two days ... It's okay. I probably overplayed Blink in my younger days, so that sucks. I am, however, enjoying the fuck out of the rare and B-side shit though, I forgot about a lot of them.

  7. To be fair I do like some of the new songs, but they have no depth, they don't resonate with me as the songs off of every other thing Blink has released. I'm still hopeful for the next album. I just kinda find it sad that this is the album that received a grammy nomination. Their past stuff deserved it much more imo.

  8. Hey man. Stop enjoying fun music from a fun-at-heart band and then we’ll talk.

  10. Ben Folds' farts sound better than new blink.

  11. Worth the 20 minutes. The first long-youtube video that hasn't been made by either a Tom-Bot or someone with an invested interest in blink. Pretty objective, and what first starts out to be this fan-made tribute video turns into a really, really enticing mini-documentary. I think this guy has it spot on. It made me incredibly sad to see what's happened to my childhood hero.

  12. Congrats to the band for going gold. Mark really deserves it after all the shit he’s been through with tom. I really enjoy Cali and the deluxe. They’re good fun songs but a band that has Matt Skiba, Mark Hoppus and travis barker in it can do way way better than this. They have got to let Skiba write more and have Feldman take a backseat on the next record. Matt Skiba is probably my favourite musician of all time and he could do amazing things with this band if they give him the chance. if the next record is California pt3 then honestly it really should be the last.

  13. Me and my wife have watched through the Office probably 4 or 5 times probably, one of the best shows ever made. It's great for background noise when we are busy doing other stuff around the house or actively watching it I always notice new things.

  14. Lol its so long that I feel i could do the same and it would still be enjoyable. I think im gonna do parkd and rec again though as its basically the same thing. Ive seen it before but then got my gf into it and watched about half a year ago and stopped.

  15. I felt the same way when I finished watching it the first time, so I started it from the beginning like a week later.

  16. Pretty much. The people that "grew out of Blink" left this forum before Neighborhoods came out. California is a more generic take on Blink, and deserves the criticism it gets on here.

  21. Part of an interview where Jordan from Strung Out namedropped Tom and his guitar: "...I have a lot of video footage from the tours we did and we had a great time together so sometimes it’s frustrating but there are so many bands where that happened. Like Tom Delonge from Blink 182 used to have Strung Out stickers on his guitar and we’ve never been asked to go on tour." https://liveforthismusic.wordpress.com/2011/08/06/strung-out-interview/

  22. good for them ! I think california was a big commercial success... since that's the only thing the guys seem to care about now, I'm sure they're happy how it turned out. Don't think tom feels like a dumbass at all after reading that, i can't imagine tom letting blink go down that cookie cutter easy way out path. Tom is a fucking wierdo, but he needs to be challenged to be into something. mark on the other hand is more then happy to let feldman create his own vision of the band and forcing it on mark. he couldn't actually give fewer fucks about it. I'm really disapointed tom doesn't engage in music anymore, but nothing angers me more then marks attitude towards being a musican. Can't stand the guy anymore tbh
