Dylan
I just bought a Fender Hot Rod Deville 212 III (2x12 60w). I have never owned a tube amp before. Ive looked online and everyone has varying ways how to correctly turn on a tube amp without hurting the tubes. I have a standby switch, and a main power switch. Whats the correct order and for how long? Also, what is the difference between the "volume" knob and the "master" knob? The fender manual is useless- 2 pages of nothing. Julian Casablancas
Make sure you turn the first knob to Standby. Then turn the amp on with the power switch. You can turn the Standby knob to On after like 5 minutes of warming up. Always make sure the first knob is turned to Standby before turning the amp on. You have three channels on the Fender as far as I know. (or two). The Volume is for one channel and the Master is for the overall volume of the amp. So before turning the power on, make sure the standby switch is on? Once it is on, then flip the main power switch to on and let it warm up for a minute or so... then do i turn off the standby switch to play, or leave it on while playing? n i k u
i would turn it on standby so my tubes could warm up, and then do other shit like tune my guitar, set up shit on stage, whatever. yeah, but you don'tn have to wait 5 minutes, 30 seconds will suffice. The longer the better.
