The Tom Delonge Thread

That was interesting.

It's intentionally manipulative in it's editing but if you look past that the general concept is not that far fetched and not even far from what people have said here in the past - that he's essentially a patsy.

It would make a lot of sense if it was just an effort to stop him using his platform to uncover actual truths, but instead to perpetuate ridiculous ideas that are never proven and thus end up making him look (and actually potentially become) crazy.

If that is what's actually happening here, then I would start to feel legitimately sorry for Tom.

Watched most of it; eh, I don't know.

They try to go on the initial premise that WikiLeaks and Podesta emails showed Tom had a connection with government officials. But it didn't. It showed that Tom was a fanboy that sent emails to Podesta and got no reply.

Sure, Tom met with Podesta, but its not uncommon for politicians to grant interviews with people (look at Sascha Baron Cohen's pranks).

I don't think our government would need to use Tom Delonge to spread disinformation.

I think Tom is just nuts and has been sucked into the scary realm of tin foil hats; where nothing is as it seems, everything is a secret, everything means something else, everyone is hiding this or that. What a shitty way to live life. Tom thinks he can use this and actually turn it into a business, LOL, and the "government officials" are just getting a salary to stand onstage and play along.

Well that's the thing - the reason I don't think this theory is too far fetched is because I don't think they've chosen Tom to spread disinformation, I think their intentionally using Tom because he accidentally got close to something and they wanted to avoid him letting something out.

Say he did meet with Podesta, and he mentioned something dumb he'd picked up on his conspiracy channels that was actually very close to something true. Maybe Podesta, or someone else Tom had contact with, passed along the potential threat to Tom spreading that kind of information.

If they saw him and his potential audience (he does clearly have one, not a large one but it's large enough to be potentially damaging) as a threat, then maybe they would give him a couple of meetings with semi important people, get them to rile him up, and then let him loose to say absolute rubbish.

I'm not saying it's the truth, and it's definitely a bit of a spectacle just to shut him up, but I think it would make some sense - and to be honest it's a nicer alternative than Tom is just a scam artist.

Kay-I agree, if the government is truly hiding some big thing that they want to keep from the public at all costs about Aliens; then I could see this being viable for sure.

I am just not convinced our government would have any reason to hide stuff. It doesn't pass the common sense test that our government would go to great lengths to deny the existence of aliens. What dog do they have in that fight? Why would it be a threat to national security for people to know? Heck many people already think they exist!

I mean, wouldn't our government be on pins and needles that an alien spacecraft would land and aliens would walk around the planet? On no, their cover is blown!

To me Tom reeks more of being a charlatan. "Hey guys I know XYZ about super secret stuff and for a low monthly payment of $39.95, so can you!"

I don't even necessarily think it's an alien thing he stumbled upon. He could have stumbled upon some technological secret they were developing and assumed it was aliens related because... well because it's Tom. thats what I mean by 'close to the truth' he could have stumbled on something, misunderstood it but mentioned it but because he has some concept of it they decided to make him seem nuts instead, which tbh isn't hard for him to do as he clearly already is a bit.

if it distracts from what their doing and stops him accidentally revealing something to 'enemy' countries then I can totally see them doing it.

Its possible. As an equipment socialist for the government, there are certainly classified programs.

The thing is, people who work on these programs, don't go around bragging about them, its nothing to really brag about. Saying you have information actually could put you at a very serious risk (hence why I think Tom doesn't know anything). Not only are you at risk for prosecution, but you'd lose your job, and could easily be blackmailed, you are putting yourself in a bad spot. If I knew anything classified. I would NEVER tell people I knew. Ever. I would be scared shitless to even reveal it. Wouldn't you? Its almost a burden. Nothing to brag about.

It certainly wouldn't be like "Oh I know something now give me $39.95 to tell you".

Weird thing is, I saw Blink a few days before this show and don't remember them being this good, so full of energy. Maybe so many years of seeing mediocre.

Tom is dripping in sweat by like the 4th song, so hot. :-)

*Parts of this show have aleady been shown before, but this is the entire thing.

Just seen this, God I miss sloppy fast Blink with energy.

Fuck Bbastardised Feldy-182.

I don’t even think it would be worth the government’s time and effort to use Tom to spread disinformation. He’s not important at all, and I think you guys severely over estimate his “reach” or fan base.

He could stand on the busiest road in my city with a sign that says “I’m Tom Delonge” and I’d be shocked if 2 cars stopped to say hi.

He’s just an obsessed conspiracy theorist with slightly enough status/money to do *something* with it. He said on Rogan that all this stuff in Sekret Machines was stuff he came up with on his own from reading stuff for 20 years. The “non-fiction” book was nothing but re-hashed information. He has literally never said ONE new thing, in like 3 years of promoting this.

And even IF the government is withholding this information, don’t you think they would leak it themselves or profit from it themselves if it’s this serious? You really think the government is going to giveaway it’s biggest secrets to a pop-punk singer so that he can sell t-shirts and kids books for his own failing company? It’s fucking insane, and he’s going to keep doing it until this bites him in the ass. It’s sad.

I’m all for Tom having a multimedia company and doing movies/books and stuff but this whole UFO stuff is a whole different level of insanity.

I think the point of the video was that they want to protect their information and take Tom down an endless path of insanity because he may have gotten close to something or shown he's motivating enough to get people to get close to things they don't want you to. So an easy tactic for them is to adopt Tom and feed him a bunch of shit instead to take him off any proper path.

It was a pretty cool video, seeing they drove a guy insane was pretty freaky.

Especially considering we've witnessed similar with Tom hence this thread. Leave our Tom alone!

I don't think either, except if they 'wanted' to make us think that all that shit is ridiculous. I mean, the way Tom impersonates a guy who, well... has some information is hilarious. Thinking about him you can't think about it all on a serious way. Enough for people to think: nah, this is all bullshit.

On the other side, I don't think either that Tom has any kind of 'sensible' information, if it exists in any way or form.

this. the video isn’t saying that the government wants tom to spread misinformation to the world. it says that there is a history of the government purposely feeding people like tom, who have gotten close to something confidential, total bullshit in order to lead him as far from the truth as possible until they back away from it entirely.

the other guy they reference was picking up things from a military base and he believed it was about aliens. so, they rolled with it knowing it wasn’t true because then he’d never actually catch on to what he really heard. the downside is that guy totally lost his mind and thought aliens were out to get him or something.

i also watched the joe rogan podcast. it was really embarrassing. tom sniffing every two minutes like a cokehead, jumping to different topics as soon as he realized he couldn’t explain scientific things he knew nothing about, showing fake ufo videos on youtube, etc. i’d say he has already lost his mind.

Yeah exactly, it seems potentially plausible
