Need help from the community to reacquire these demos please

I lost all the blink-182 demo tapes to a hdd crash a couple of months back (no goddamn backup!) and have been trying to track them down in the original bitrate they were ripped in since i downloaded them when they were first uploaded to the internet back in the day. I'm sure someone here still has them stashed away somewhere. I believe they were all in 192kbps, there are lower quality copies floating on the net but would rather reacquire the original rips!

Flyswatter

Untitled 2nd Demo

Original Buddha Tape

Enema Of The State (Demo)

Also if anyone has the +44 - Make You Smile demo (original 320kbps download from 44disasters), offtopic but didn't fancy making a seperate thread just for this one track in +44 forum!

I appreciate that these may not be allowed to be posted so i would greatly appreciate a PM on any of these! Thanks

i found the +44 demos. these were the originals from 44disasters.com (but someone renamed them and modified the id3 tags. originally the file names were "cliff_diving_(demo)-44disasters.com.mp3", etc. i have those, too, but the files are corrupted for some reason.)

Cliff Diving (Demo).mp3

I'll look around for you on some of my backup drives.  In the mean time I recommend safely looking up some torrents.

This is my last resort, i've looked through public/private torrents... they are either dead or the lower quality versions. I appreciate the help!

i know you're looking for the original rips from back in the day, but there were new rips made fairly recently that blow the sound quality of those out of the water. no buddha yet, but we have some songs from the rip

demo no 2: http://www.mediafire.com/file/og46vyk7smwmcqp/b_d2.zip

some songs from the buddha rip: http://www.mediafire.com/file/i12bdest4iqmwqi/b_bt.zip

Wow, thankyou for bringing these to my attention. These are much better!

Still on the hunt for the rest of the Buddha tape in 192 until the higher quality rip surfaces in full. I think the Enema Of The State demo that is circling in 160kbps is a different rip from the 192, quality wise there is a big difference (i managed to find one track from the 192 on my old ipod for comparison).

Here you go:

Buddha Tape: https://www.mediafire.com/?qz79zuay6vufhi6 - blinkrebels rip

Enema Of The State Demo: https://www.mediafire.com/?sl3n64nfvdlhge6 - This is the second version off of blinkrebels with the correct pitch, there are versions floating around with the wrong pitch, which was the first blinkrebels rip.

interesting to hear the enema demos pitch corrected it. "so sorry it's over" (which became man overboard) is missing however.
edit: it's totally there, i was confused because the track numbering is different from the initial rip.

it's a shame this is a 192/192 transcode. but it's the best we're likely to see.

i still have the original 192k, pitched-down leak from '99. napster, baby.

Thankyou very much!!! Buddha seems to be missing Track 10 & 15 however...

wow, never heard the EOTS demos pitch-shifted. thanks a ton.

anyone even know where the EOTS demos came from?

they were ripped incorrectly from an audio cassette; that's why the pitch is wrong.

uploaded to napster in 1999. that's when i grabbed them.

i was just wondering if anyone had any idea where they came from, who had the original cassette and whatnot

beats me. i doubt we'll ever know.

the demo was recorded at DML studios in escondido, california. one of my own bands recorded an EP there in august 1999.
it's probably the engineer kid who was working there with the studio owner who uploaded the tape to napster. i know the owner—don—would never have done it. and i highly doubt the band would.

If anyone can hook me up with Point of View (Track 10) from the original Buddha tape, since it seems to be missing from Julian's link!  Huge thankyou to everyone in this thread for the help so far, it's cool to see that this thread was useful to others too!
