Speedo
Back in 2005 or 2006 ... Can't remember anymore ... I was all set up to take over bass duties for a band called The Sheckies up in New Jersey (I'm not even sure Sheckies are a band anymore but they're great too if you're into nasally pop punk) unfortunately things fell through on my end and I couldn't make the trip to New Jersey. The guy who took my place was named Vin and he writes great traditional pop punk songs. The style is sort of "Queers-lite" and he brings a unique quality to his lyrics, almost conversational AND he's just as tight on guitar as he was on bass. I recently started revisiting my past music adventures and memorbilia that I have collected over the years and I found a rough demo of early, early Scutches songs and fell in love again. Seriously, check this band out, they are great ... Good good guys all around and real toe-tapping go-getters! Live:
bojangles
I found about these guys through Teenage Bottlerocket, they do a very good cover of their song "Don't Go"
