boxelder
i love the +44 album! i can see how one might say it’s missing a standout track, but... i like it lol. some songs are more creative than mark had ever been (lillian, weatherman) and every single lyric is painfully honest. i really think it’s marks best work outside of his contributions to untitled and dude ranch.
Lauren
Lycanthrope is one of my fav mark songs. 155 is also very awesome.

As a fan of both +44 and AVA I loved it when both bands were active. What a fun time. I wanted blink back badly but I was enjoying the new bands, and the rivalry between them was kinda fun haha. Can't believe that was more fun than blink actually being reunited. The +44 vs AVA arguments were way more fun than the pro/anti California arguments we have these days.
radioactive tomdog
obviously, everyone changes drastically over time but it's just funny how polar opposite mark is now compared to that interview. he put so much effort in to the writing and production of the +44 album. everything about that project was 100% mark. now, he's totally cool with phoning it in and plugging everything in to a kemper amp stacked with feldmann created guitar profiles. he criticized (rightfully) tom's writing on wdntw but now he pays some bleached asshole to write terrible music for him.
Jan Backing Track
"The place I used to live, made me feel like a tourist I couldn't co-exist with the cold and suspicious When the last remaining light was starting to filter, It seemed the perfect time to step into the future. Your heart is a grave to be perfectly honest Your mouth's a smoking gun And you smile while you're twisting the knife in my stomach, 'Til everything is gone. Take all you can from me, I've got weak constitution" To "I can feel my head falling off my neck I need something To keep going So just take my hand Only seconds left The clock's running Our time's coming Aaah! It's Friday night let's lose our minds in a downward spiral Here we go 'Cause we got no control (No control) It's Friday nights always save my life from the worst of times we ever had Thank God for punk rock bands Till Monday morning strikes again We are the kings of the weekend" 3

RomeoAndRebecca
I'd like to partly attribute the difference in lyricism to the fact that these are two very different musical projects. That being said, Mark has been absent as a songwriter since like 2006. I don't think he has anything to write about anymore. Also Feldman's approach to writing lyrics is the polar opposite of how Mark described his process.

Lauren
I’ve always loved “And my dear I need you to move a little faster This second counts as the rest of your life Your final word and an itchy finger And then it's taken away And we'll be beaten down without mercy or meaning I turn my face to a careless skyline I'm searching hard for a sign from heaven But they've forgotten me here”
Jan Backing Track
"A little something just to take off the edge A little more, and I'll fall off the planet entirely" Favorite line. 2
Cheerios4u98
That entire album is full of Mark's best lyrics. 4
darkarrow
"And we'll wake up in vacant rooms Pull you close to my aching skin Broken glass on the porcelain Is this what you imagine? My best-laid plans Will build and break your heart Her guilty hands Tear my whole world apart My mind keeps racing She's softly dreaming I'm scraped and sober But there's no one listening And we both take our revenge But we still don't feel any better I'm scraped and sober, but there's no one listening to me at all" That bolded part is my favorite line on that album.
Nasa
I love WYHSB. I used to listen to it a lot. Depressing album, but its honesty is what kept me coming back to it.
