Ghent
Neighborhoods was definitely missing the big comeback single that people expected. I love UAN, but it just wasn’t a song that was going to gain any traction on the radio. After Midnight was the best chance on that album, but it would have been pretty low energy for a big comeback single.
Knapppers
They played UAN a fuck ton here on the radio. Prob about the same they played Bored to Death
Ghent
BTD majorly outperformed UAN on the radio
radioactive tomdog
even if she falls should have been the comeback single. instead, it was the "b-side." lame.
prankerd14
Kladoscope, natives or wishing well would of been my choice for first single
Jan Backing Track
Fighting the Gravity would have made me cream, followed closely by Natives, HAG, or Kaleidoscope. Up all night is bottom tier for me on that album. Great little album in retrospect, low energy and marketing, a bit depressing. Travis' best work. I heard UAN like once or twice a week on 99.3 when it was first released and only on that station. Bored to Death was being played on The Peak, 99.3 and Virgin Radio - it was killing it. Kay
I love Kaleidoscope but it'd be a shite single. None of neighborhoods waa single material.

twentytwenty
Even if she falls Wishing well After midnight in that order. And with Natives as a leak before the first single (Even if she falls). I guarantee that this approach would have created a better outcome
boxelder
even if she falls was a tame, uninspired throwback that i was never a fan of. i suppose one could say that for after midnight too, but i always favored the melody of that song. i really think if that had been the lead single, it wouldve performed MUCH better
MSandt
I don't see Even If She Falls having any mainstream appeal, more of a throwback appreciated by long-term fans.

I only ever listen to the fox so maybe thats why. I remember when Up All Night came out they were playing it all the time. I worked in a warehouse then and my shift was 4-7 and it would usually be on once or twice a shift. Seemed like there was way more hype behind it.
Nosferatu
Never understood the hype of Even If She Falls on these boards. Apart from the riff, the song offers nothing IMO. Just the standard generic AVA track outside the riff. I find the lyrics a bit crap as well. Ghost on the Dance Floor could've made a decent single choice if it wasn't 4 minutes long. That riff is catchy as hell. Love the song to death even if it is a bit repetitive. But I'd never choose it as the lead single. Also wish the guitars weren't cluttered in so much synth. Can barely hear fuck all in the chorus and the bridge. But I still like the song. After Midnight I felt had so much potential. Lyrically it's fine, it's poppy but in a good way and not in a forced way. The only thing I don't like about that song is that it's kinda boring. The live performances from 2011 before the release of it made me think this was gonna be some stadium rock song. The bridge sounded huge but obviously Tom improvises. The other problem with the song was it had no marketing. Neighborhoods had no marketing at all. The only reason that sold as much as it did was just simply based on blink's past reputation. People heard the song Up All Night and probably thought "wtf?". Good song, but a bit weird for a single choice. I think Wishing Well would've made a nice single. It's catchy. Whenever I've played the Neighborhoods album or some of the songs to more casual listeners/non-blink fans, it seems that they remember Wishing Well more than anything. My damn mother even sings along to the song and she hates it when blink is on probably cause of me (she also sings along to Bottom of the Ocean and Last Train Home from California too haha). Kaleidoscope is probably too depressing/moody sounding to be a single. I know I Miss You was a massive hit but that still had the poppy melodies in the chorus. But then again, blink themselves were surprised that I Miss You was a hit. Every other song is too aggressive, fast or whatever to be big hits IMO. Or maybe too experimental. That said, I think Fighting the Gravity could've been huge the way I Miss You was. Like as the second or third single or something.
zzzz
Love UAN, After Midnight or Wishing Well may have done a bit better on the radio though. No chance on Kaleidoscope/Even If She Falls IMHO.
vic vinegar
They released After Midnight. I think it did even less than UAN.
Jan Backing Track
Yeah even if she falls is arguably the worst track. I don't think it really matters though, none of Blinks singles outside Rock Show, First Date, were conventional or pandering.. They always MADE the hits. Feeling this, I miss you, Josie, Adams Song, etc all pretty unique or different. Up all night just kind of lacked energy, could have picked any other. That said, I'll never forget listening to Neighborhoods every single day. It was a bit depressing for whatever reason but it was very them at the time. Then DED came out.. It wasn't prime blink but it was still very very interesting and engaging to listen to.
Jan Backing Track
It's actually shocking that blink is still relevant when you think about it. The band was still mega popular after Untitled... and think about where you were when that dropped... Now think about where you were when Neighborhoods dropped. That is crazy long for any band to not release any music. Yeah we had AvA and one +44 stint to give you a taste, but how many casual fans tuned into that? Then no more music for several more years after Neighborhoods/DED? Yikes.
