Album is called Kansas Anymore (yeah that's right)

This is the song that hooked me. Kept hearing it on the radio (yes) and dug for more.

Been listening to the album pretty much non-stop for several weeks now. My kids like him too which is a bonus. It's not just this song, it's the whole album. If you check it out be sure to listen to the Deluxe.

It's like if you combined 90s pop alternative with the best of Conor Oberst with the Lumineers and added a hint of country twang?

I loved their self-titled album and the follow up was ok. Hated everything up until this point but the new songs are proper pop/punk.

The new album is produced by the one and only John Feldmann.

Like many of these bands, I discovered them through Blink. In an old interview, Mark said he believed Blake's lyrics should be studied at Universities across the land. I agree - funnily enough, Blake (lead singer) actually ended up becoming a lecturer for a while.

It’s the 25th anniversary of Bleed American and I never really realised how huge that record has been for me.

With my recent hearing woes my relationship with music has been quite frustrating and off, I recently reminded myself of this record and I am baffled at why I’ve never swung from the rooftops saying it’s one of my fave records of all time.

It’s raw but polished, it’s heavy and beautiful, it’s so well balanced and each track is stand out in it’s own way.

Futures was always my favourite but damn, maybe it wasn’t and I just didn’t realise.

The clip sounds very American Idiot/21st Century Breakdown esque which if true I'd be super into. Haven't enjoyed anything green day have released after 21stCB so I cannot give them the benefit of the doubt. I guess we'll wait and see.

What is it about this chick? She is oddly captivating. Insanely great lyrics, love her voice, personality...but i feel like I'm way out of her target demo here so I'm not sure what's going on. Punisher is a great album. Also enjoy Better Oblivion Community Center with Conor Oberst.

The band reunited for a reunion show after 19 years, opening for The Starting Line at the Novo in LA last week, playing the hits and some deep cuts as well!

I listened to damnesia last night but because I've never listened to them before, I'm not sure what's considered the good or bad albums or whether anything isn't "classic alkaline trio". 

 What does Beastie Boys mean to you and do you like them ?

what’s yours?

A game similar to what Zuckerberg created pre-Facebook. Essentially there’s a list of 129 pop punk / pop-punk adjacent bands (I was a little loose on genre) in a battle arena. The game will put 2 random bands side by side and you pick which one you like more. The winner’s ranking goes higher and the loser goes lower. It uses Elo ranking (similar to chess) so an underdog beating a heavy favorite means more than beating someone with an equal rating.

There’s a sample of the top song on Apple Music of each band under the 2 combatants so you can do a quick preview (or a deeper dive if you wish) for bands you are not familiar with. There’s also a leaderboard that shows the current live ranking of each band.

It’s hosted on blink-182 fan site (so for Blink fans there a battle of the best songs and then another separate battle for their side project songs). There’s also a fan battle area where you can upload a YouTube video of your own band and compete there (it’s beta right now so let me know if any issues).
