I'll start:

It hit me this morning that we're gonna get to hear Mark/Tom doing vocals on the same song in a matter of months. This makes me

so happy.

First thing I think of is like 5ish years ago when bands were making shirts and stuff that said "pop punk is not dead" and "defend pop punk," that was kinda the first time I remember modern bands actively owning the phrase and proudly calling themselves pop punk as some kind of revival genre. I know Man Overboard was one of those bands, I think New Found Glory got in on that too at the time? And a lot of the bands that Blink would bring on tour like A Day To Remember and Neck Deep. So a lot of bands who were making music that was slickly produced and super inspired especially by early-to-mid 2000s emo/pop/punk or screamo. That's bringing one form of pop punk back in a way, by encouraging people to embrace the genre and having a sense of a living pop punk scene.

None of those guys quite got the platform that Machine Gun Kelly has somehow gotten, and he's definitely influenced by that same super slick early-to-mid 2000s emo/pop punk but adds his own modern pop/hip hop style to it. He's bringing his version of pop punk to the masses by being featured on MTV and playing with Travis, which is one way of "bringing pop punk back" as well. I hope people who are fans of his end up checking out Blink since he's playing with Travis and he could be like an early gateway for people I suppose.

What do you all think? Is pop punk a genre worth "defending" or "bringing back?" Are these new generation of artists doing a good job at it? Do they sound like what pop punk means to you at all? Post examples of bands you like who you think are representing the genre well! I'll add my opinions in a separate post so this doesn't get too cluttered.

what the hell happened to the guitar sound and the general playing of the songs on those live sessions, usually the bbc live lounge sound amazing while these sound terrible 

was anything ever mentioned as to why Toms guitar seemed to only use clean sound with little to no distortion and why the drum arrangements were totally different to album versions ?

Anyway, the first disc in this volume is the actual album I'd say, with the best of the best mashes appearing on it, while all the while avoiding much repetition of songs.  The second disc has some other great songs, but because of repetition or space issues, they instead appear on the 2nd disc, think of the 2nd disc as a bonus tracks type disc, the same will probably be true for the 2nd volume.

One final note before I post it, if you DLed in the past, you may notice that the previous reprise version of Do It For The Kids is now the original, and the previous original is now the reprise, this is because, it makes sense that the previous reprise end the first disc because of how that song ends, but now that appears before the other version, so the other version is now the reprise.

Use iTunes to import it, the file names will not match up with the song titles (as many names were changed to feell more fitting), that was something I was too lazy to address, plus it often helps identify who made the mashup.

If its not already clicked, make sure gapless album is checked, and I just now see that All The Adventures does not signify which album its on, if you wish, go into prefrences for the song on iTunes and change it to disc 1 of 2, also, down exists for some reason has a 2 after it, if yours does too, just delete the 2 in the title.  Other than that, this should all be good to go.  Its also possible, that I'm Lost Without You is mislabeled as track 15 instead of 14, again, just correct this in itunes.

I’m currently documenting Blink-182’s early shows in Quebec, especially their gig at the Trois-Rivières Marché aux puces (Flea Market) on September 15, 1996. The show was put together by Atomic Productions with No Fun At All, Bodyjar and Ten days late.

So far I’ve managed to track down:

A Le Nouvelliste newspaper archive (Sept 14, 1996) with the show flyer (BAnQ)

A scan of a ticket shared on the Punk jusqu’à la mort FB group (huge thanks 🙌)

A mention of an advert credited to Chris Kennedy McGowan on this forum (still trying to locate the actual scan)

👉 What I’m mainly looking for now is visual content from the Trois-Rivières show itself: photos, videos or anything that might still be floating around.

If anyone here has material tucked away in old boxes, or knows someone who was at that gig, I’d love to connect and help preserve this piece of Quebec punk history.

I'm assuming they're bootlegs, though they're not marked as such on Discord (which is nice, since then they're still allowed on the marketplace lol).
Or is Grilled Cheese actually repressing these themselves in 2025? Would be nice to be able to grab a couple from the source.

It’s a post indirectly related to Blink (at least to Mark and Travis). I’m sure this song reflects how Blink would have sounded if Tom hadn’t come back. I mean, just swap John’s voice with Matt’s, and there you go – you have a new Blink song.

The intro to Natives was good, but it was just a variation of Young London and M+Ms, so it wasn't that fresh.  Even If She Falls was pretty good but not quite as unique as his older stuff.  Dogs Eating Dogs had no standout guitar riffs (good EP with great lyrics, but the guitar was pretty standard for Tom).

Examples of his awesome riffs would be What's My Age Again?, Adam's Song, Anthem Part 2, Dumpweed, M+Ms, etc.

Simple but very awesome sounding riffs.  

Also, in before "OMG people are so negative and criticize Blink too much here!".  I'm just curious if other people feel the same way.
