  10. 1. Sick of Swagger jobbing. He deserves more :/ 2. What the fuck at the Owens/Ambrose finish? I love Ambrose, but man I wanted that Owens Vs. Zayn IC ladder match at mania. I also like Ambrose enough to loathe Cole's over-use of the lunatic angle, to the extent that instead of saying "Ambrose is going to elevate the IC title, he says it's going to get strange. Just sort of dismisses him in a way in my opinion. 3. Main event blew, but the aftermath was pretty damn cool, and Reigns got a smile from me. The Cena chants were expected cause wasn't the PPV in his hometown? The other chance were hilariously cringe though. "NXT" chants though... Haha. Sheamus is a miserable joke and Reigns needs a shit ton of work. The world title picture is looking pretty fucking boring at the moment. I'm assuming there is now tension between Reigns and Ambrose, right? I mean from a storyline perspective, why the fuck did Ambrose not back Reigns when The League Of Nations (Terrible fucking name) interfered? That was kind of awkward and annoying, creative speaking in my opinion. It didn't make any sense. What else? The first match was really good, and that ladder break spot was really rad, but I wish I've never seen the Steen/Generico tombstone spot so I could appreciate that TLC moment like my friend I watched it with did. I take that back, that ROH spot was too perfect to ever wish I hadn't seen it.

  14. They showed a marathon here too. The prequels are pretty awful. The pace seems to be ADHD, as the characters bounce from one location to another; often there are like 3-5 simultaneous plots going on and the movie focuses on one for a few minutes, then switches, etc. Every shot is elaborate, glossy and filled with all kinds of creatures and sceneries which makes everything seem fake. The first movie is the most annoying. Liam Neeson looks like he couldn't care less about being in the movie. Moreover, he looks like a hippie. Darth Maul is a completely one-sided character; there's no background or anything on him, he's just "evil". Oh, and even David Puddy had a more intimidating face paint. Choreography in the fight scene was pretty good though. The kid delivers every line the same way, and the scene where he blows up the big ship by shooting a few tiny blasts into some cliché "main reactor" was just stupid. Or the big fight between the droids and the jarjars; that was seriously the most childish interpretation of battle I've ever seen. Did any of the jarjars even die? There were like 3-5 moments in that scene where Jar Jar fumbles something and ends up destroying tons of droids. We get it Lucas, he's fucking hilarious. Samuel Jackson as a jedi warrior is the biggest miscast in the history of filmmaking. They should have just named the character Samuel Jackson. I did like the decoy queen though because of her intentionally dry delivery. The actor seemed to get it. The second movie is almost just as awful, if not even more so. The love story is not credible for one second. You never believe that Amidala has fallen in love with that whiny little bitch. Not only does he look almost exactly like Elliot Rodger but he's just as whiny, angry and self-entitled. On the other hand, I can understand him, because Obi-Wan is like a nagging wife. And how convincing is the fact that Amidala doesn't seem much bothered by the fact that Anakin just confessed to mass-murdering innocent women and children just because he was pissed off? There were also these scenes were Lucas seemed to be elaborately stupid. Like why use sabotage drones when you could simply fill them with explosives? And if you can get a drone near Amidala's window, why use some slow-moving, unpredictable toxic insects rather than just shoot her with a laser blast or something? Or when Fett is chasing Obi-Wan, why stop chasing the moment he scores a hit with the light-speed laser and send a slow-moving rocket after him instead? It's like those old Bond villains who always seemed to want to give Bond a chance to escape. Also, why are Yoda and that robot with four lightsabers so weak and frail in one scene and then bouncing all over the place in the next one? It's like Lucas put no thought into the movie at all. The third one is just as much of a mess as the other two for the first half of it. It gets better but is still pretty lame, mostly because you never bought the whole Amidala/Anakin thing in the first place, and because the characters are so poorly written/acted with the sole exception of the Palpatine/Anakin thing which I thought was pretty well made. The second half is good only relatively speaking. A New Hope seemed like a totally different movie in comparison. The characters act like humans instead of props. In the prequels everyone was super cereal the whole time (OR a lame comic sidekick). The Moonlighting type of stuff between Han and Leia was more believable and humane than anything they put in the prequels. The sets and spaceships look great because they are actual physical entities (the huge Jawa vehicle looked awesome), and not every scene is filled with distracting, useless details (at least until they make it to Mos Eisley). The movie also moves from one scene to another with a steady pace and consistency; first the desert planet, then the Death Star, then the space battle. In the prequels it seemed that Lucas just wanted to show off different planets. Not that I consider this some kind of a masterpiece (V is the best), but it's still a pretty well made movie.

  17. I would guess that some tracks being laid down now will end up on the final album. I'd also say they're focusing on one song at a time, but then jumping back to new ideas/ demoing when they get bored or frustrated. Then once they have enough songs put down, they'll run back though each to finish the arrangements and add/ remove any instrumental or vocal tracks before they send them off for mixing. This is pretty speculative just going off the little they've said about the recording process. It's exciting how much work they seem to be putting into the album. Also, the fact that Mark seems to have a bunch of ideas saved up and recorded and that Matt was bringing ideas to the initial rehearsals makes it even more promising. One of the problems with Neighborhoods is that they seemingly released just about all the material they had and had little say in vetoing each others' songs. For an album to be great, they need to shit out as many ideas and songs as possible and then cut it down to the 12-14 that make the most sense for the album. I think that's what we're gonna get. I really think that they are all finally in a place where they can 1) be totally honest with themselves and each other, 2) have fun and actually want to be in the studio and put a lot of time in it, and 3) really have something to prove.
