Seems like a mid-life crisis. His was probably delayed because of all the wealth and fame from a young age. He’s probably just coming down to reality now lol.1 point

So as of Oct 2018 Tom has been listed as and manager/member of blink on the company register. That other version of this that only had Mark and Travis was from 2016 so this one is more recent. Marks name is listed on page 1 but I didn’t bother sharing that.1 point

I love the design of the tour posters from the 70s. Thanks for sharing these interesting articles @daveyjones1 point

these were very interesting articles, thanks for sharing. i've always wanted to know more about this but never knew where to look. colby stuff is super interesting, might have to look into that book hah!1 point

Pretty sure everyone would prefer a blink with a committed Tom in it, but that's just not in the cards. Still, what we have now is preferable to letting blink die because of Tom. And at least blink without Tom is still infinitely better than Tom without blink (not to mention it's still his only real source of income).1 point

Mark in simple creatures is good at the moment. He looks like he's having a lot of fun and the chemistry is really there. I think he also enjoys the novelty of it all, new questions, new band, new live concept. Mark in blink at the moment is just not enjoyable for me. he always looks and sounds so jaded. really looks like two different people in those two bands. I share the opinion with @Scott. that blink should just call it quits. They really could just create a new band and still play some of the blink hits like +44 did. heck they can even advertise it a ""Supergroup XY" fea1 point

I still haven’t listened to it yet, but based on the reviews I’m guessing this has got to be Davey Jones’s favorite all-time blink track.1 point

This is exactly what I've been saying. They're consistently making music slightly worse than the previous, making you appreciate the last iteration more. I went from being meh to Neighborhoods to violently masterbating to Natives and Kaleidoscope for like a week straight and then I started stomaching California tracks after Deluxe faux experimentation throwaway generic filler tracks and now I'm starting to warm up to the idea of Wildfire for the simple fact there's a guitar in it...were talking ground level standards here. This song, 'style' whatever is pure trash and 1000 steps away fr1 point

Funny how you can predict who will like/defend a new Blink song before it’s even released. The song could literally be anything and it wouldn’t change a thing.1 point

Just got a notification for Brooklyn Vegan's review of the song. He was not impressed.1 point

A good song is good whether you listen to it with shitty laptop speakers or professional audio equipment. The latter will obviously improve the listening experience, but it's not going to change the lyrics, melody, chord progression, etc.1 point

It kind of feels like a logical progression for blink. I don't like it, but it's not like it came out of nowhere. I think they'd be better off just changing their name and killing blink unless Tom wants to come back.1 point

I am wondering if Blink's strategy is to release progressively shitter music to make previous work sound better. Because I am going to be honest, I had California on today in my car and the fucking thing is a masterpiece compared to this. In fact the only song I felt was on par with this piece of trash was the song "California" which is an instant skipper.1 point

I always thought their music was a mess since they rejoined. They had some good ideas here and there with songs, but most of the album sounded out of place. You never felt like it was a typical Blink-182 album. Judging by this new song, it's going to be the same old bullshit. Blink always had a distinct sound, but we've never really had it since 2003.1 point

Nah, Neighborhoods was a logical step 8 years attached from Untitled, and Dogs Eating Dogs they were onto making some of their best shit (shame we never got a full album produced that way).1 point

What the fuck has happened to this band? It's now official this band died back in 2004. Such a shame.1 point

New to Ghent? He’s obsessed with Taylor fucking swift pal. He’s an absolute danger1 point

Lol I don’t even want to try and listen to this song. Based on the reviews here it is absolutely shit. I remember when they prided themselves on not using backing tracks. This sounds so lame. #ripblink1 point

Has anybody seen toms last insta post? Hes thanking his fans and gives a shout out to the new blink song and simple creatures!! Actually very happy about this! They seem to really have found their peace with the situation and we can all profit from the great music we are getting! And a new blink record as well;)1 point

he’s definitely at a frustrating place for me as a fan. i’ve said in older posts that in interviews he seems more guarded and ready to give soundbites than honest answers. seems like the years of tom dragging him down broke him a little, and when he deemed his experiment with matt a failure, he regressed and made a throwback record with songwriters. he said he got depressed after the california tour, and i can only surmise because he realized that the whole thing with matt and the grammy nod and the songwriters feels mad empty. there’s also been the rumor he’s an alcoholic too, though i’m not1 point
