all true, but toms palm muting sounds different. i dont know why but it does. even on his newer shit its like the one thing he does that still sounds like him.1 point
-
Yeah, this. Draws it out, makes it more of an event than just a poll.1 point

You have a group on an island. Keep voting off the one least deserving to stay until there is one left.1 point

for sure. i guess i'm saying, as someone who came up through the fat/epitaph 90s scene, palm muting for me is not what made tom's sound distinctive. i'd say his arpeggiated major scales, "plucked" root note riffs, and AC/DC style hammer-ons are what really made him stand apart from a lot of other bands in the genre. sure, he's a super mediocre lead player, but he really made up for it with stylistic flourishes that no other players in the genre were really doing. he stood out, even if he couldn't solo.1 point

the vastly superior rendition in my eyes. the vocals, holy cow. been loving this since an ex showed it to me in high school. the whole rest of the album rites of passage is similarly melodic bliss1 point

Using the publicity from the 2nd break up to help sell the poorly produced scraps and demos was probably the most heinous thing he ever did.1 point
-
You forgot the cliche where he constantly siphons money out of wallets of his poor fans and only provides them mediocre EP's and lame novels.1 point

You’re so rattled. Are you from 182online any chance? You seem like the type of cunt that would come from there1 point

I don't know if you spend much time looking at humans, but heads are usually smaller than butts. You'd have to have an unusually large head for underwear to fit snugly. Either that or you like to wear children's underwear on your head, you fucking pervert.1 point

I like the ones where he'll play two palm muted notes then strums normally for the next note/couple of notes. He does it on one of the verses of GATC, intro of Anthem P2, pre-chorus of Give Me One Good Reason, verses of Mutt and one of the verses of Man Overboard. Can't remember off the top of the head when it comes to the other songs where he does that. edit: He does them on Dude Ranch a lot as well, but more as riffs than as rhythm parts. Just gave bits of that album some quick listens haha. The riff of Online Songs is another one as well.1 point

Fun Fact: I originally planned on using a pair of your mom's pink undies, but they were too big for my head.1 point

The Tom Delonge palm mute will always be signature to me. That's what got me into blink and guitar randomly was hearing all the palm mutes littered throughout Enema and TOYPAJ. WMAA, Adams Song, Please Take Me Home, Dumpweed, so good1 point

More importantly though, have fun with it and keep your expectations in reality. Work on writing your own stuff so that you're keeping things in the realm of all of your capabilities. Good luck though, have a blast and let me know when/if your guys record something.1 point

Yeah I really like it, I use dark themes for most things these days so it's pretty nice having one here too. Good suggestion @theedge00!1 point
-
Okay, I've uploaded the theme and it actually looks pretty good! I might even stick with it myself. The downside of using a custom theme is that when there's an update to the board software itself it may cause issues with custom themes that require some sort of manual updating. Hopefully some time in the future a dark mode is built in to the default theme, but until then I'll do my best to keep this custom dark theme working properly.1 point

Go to bed little girl. You’re a moron. I don’t even like Green Day but I have the ability to look at things objectively, unlike your dumbass1 point

found 28th Street magazine with Blink on the cover in June 1999 (along with an interview and some rare photos) found small review from this show : 6/3/1995: The band performs at Viva Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada, as part of an album release party for Litmus Green. Other bands include Unwritten Law, Litmus Green, and Assorted Jelly Beans. From user 10tranjan66 Funny thing is I saw them in 1995 playing in a small venue called "Viva Las Vegas" . Basically just a wherehouse in Anaheim. I remember Mark Hoppus having blue hair. I wouldnt be surprised if I was actually at that exact show. Great show. Other bands in the lineup were Unwritten Law, Litmus Green, Assorted Jellybeans and maybe a few others I cant remember.1 point

Do you even know what a "hit" is? Looks like you're only viewing a hit as a song that you like1 point
-
Can we just agree that both bands appealed to different people. You had a cultural phenomenon in American Pie using blink and their music for all the cool kids And then I’d imagined some geeky, incel chess playing cunt movie would use Greenday to appease all the smelly virgins with no friends hence Speedo, Diddy shitcunt and the likes choosing Greenday.1 point

nice. that's about it. i prefer blink. but the people who write rock history—the hall of fame, the critics, the RIAA, the grammys, the billboard charts—will always hold green day over blink, and with good reason. the facts are on their side.1 point
-
Sorry dude but this is ridiculous. I love blink way more than Green Day but the number of hits is not even comparable. Green Day is in the top 3 with Foo Fighters and RHCP for the most #1 alternative rock songs all-time (they might even be number one now). They have around 13 or so...blink has three. Add in all their other hits and how they've also been able to cross over to the mainstream rock charts (the radio stations that claim to play real rock), and it's clear - Green Day destroys blink in this area.1 point

yea, they were always weaksauce to me. singers should not sound like brits. that's why oasis sucks so bad. led zep sounded like americans, so they are ok. if you're going to sing in english, you'd better sound american. it's the only way.0 points
