  3. so, i got to see green day live for the first time last night and was honestly blown away. extremely tight as a band, high-energy, old-school rock showmanship/crowd work, fans coming up onstage… it was just a great show. it got me thinking about how much blink truly sucks live, and why that is. and i guess the difference is that neither mark or tom have a big interest in classic rock showmanship, and that’s okay. tom also clearly has little interest in music anymore, whereas the whole green day entourage seems like it’s the first gig they’ve ever played. that enthusiasm really translates well to a big crowd given that these bands will never play smaller rooms again, and it’s something blink sorely lacks. apples to oranges i guess, but green day live was extremely fun in a way blink has never been for me

  4. Honestly from what you said about the Euphoria clip on the other post I expected it to be way worse than it was. He's clumsy on a few notes and you can tell he struggles with the higher notes, but he mostly got it. I genuinely wonder if Tom's actively trying to sing better live, because while he still has a bit of the ol' "strangled cat" moments, he seems more consistent and on pitch than he has been in years. Literally the song I hate the most on that album, I love basically all of it to some degree except for Paralyzed which is just kind of 'there', but 'Tremors' just feels like boring old AVA to me.

  5. I totally agree, it's apparently what shitty musicians do these days.

  7. Interesting they played Euphoria a whole step down, I guess for Tom to hit the notes in the chorus a bit easier. The recorded one is in D but they played it in C last night, never thought I’d witness Drop C tuning in AVA 😆

  8. Oh man I forgot about that too haha, that is gold. Sounds like something a band would do as a joke

  9. Hahah holy fuck! I completely forgot about that. That’s gotta be close to the biggest fan rip off in Tom history.

  10. I think I'd want to ultimate blink forum keepsake. The Clarke butt plug, hand painted and signed by Oliver.

  12. Green Day is just a much better band, as far as musicianship goes. I love blink a billion times more, but it’s the truth. Without the studio magic Mark and Tom would have never sounded good. They were capable of being fairly good live, but that was during a time when they were still excited about their careers and were trying. That didn’t last very long.

  13. Musically, they have never sounded this good live. It's kinda crazy how much of a lift they got with Ilan and Matt. But yeah, Tom is clearly no Katy Perry, even if he believe as much himself judging on how they built the stage for this tour.

  14. No ones saying he sounds amazing, but compared to most of his live performances of the last like, 12 years or so, it's on the up.

  15. That’s going to be the popular opinion amongst your fellow Tom Bots. To anyone with an unbiased ear he still sounds like trash

  16. unpopular opinion - tom sounds "good" in these videos. i think the sinus surgery helped him breathe more. i didn't think he'd be able to sing this song at all. the live mix recorded through an iphone or whatever makes it sound way worse than it probably is. also, timebomb has a ghost on the dance floor sound to me. i like it.

  18. I legitimately couldn't remember what The Disease even sounded like. Just listened to it again. Even though I've listened to the whole album multiple times (not recently though) I barely remember this song. The chorus sounds vaguely familiar but I don't remember any other part of it. So strange haha. It's decent.

  19. Tom singing the first two choruses of euphoria live might be the worst thing I’ve ever heard. The last chorus sounds great though. Also everything’s magic might be the best I’ve ever heard that song performed Tom sounded great. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CR2xH5simim/?utm_medium=copy_link

  22. I like that clip too. There might be one more good song! I think the less a song sounds like it’s from the LOVE albums, the more I’ll like it haha

  23. I actually don’t mind that clip. Interested in the song now at least.

  24. Yeah it's great. Restless Souls was way better now than when I listened to it when it came out, that song was rocking today 😎

  28. Found and added this ticket stub for this show signed by Mark himself too! Huge credits to Simon Quesnel on Facebook for this gem! 3/11/1996: The band performs at Spectrum in Montreal as a part of Sno Jam.
