  1. this album is a masterpiece. 19/20 when she wrote it, crazy. Women in the 90s were something else. All the people/labels who turned her down must be still kicking themselves. She is iconic. her vocals here are a fucking joke. She’s perfect

  2. I enjoyed it. Although Alanis herself isn't pleased with it. I think she feels that she overshared in the interviews because she was going through postpartum depression at the time.

  3. It's the perfect storm for huge demand. People are starved for concerts. Warped Tour no longer exists, and people miss it. It's only one (now two) dates instead of a whole tour so people from all over the country will be trying to get tickets to the same singular event, instead of everyone going to their closest Warped Tour date. Sounds like a nightmare to attend tbh. I love a lot of the bands and I'd love to see many of them but this just doesn't sound fun. Plus, I'm REALLY hoping things are better by then, but in this day and age large public events aren't even a sure thing at the moment. COVID could spike again and this could get canceled, like so many other events, and they made it clear that they aren't offering refunds, which is... sketchy. But hey if this whole thing crashes and burns we could at least get an entertaining Netflix documentary about how big of a failure it was! Too bad it's not on an island like Fyre Festival, so it won't be as fun to watch.

  4. Easily one of my favorite Moz songs, especially this live version

  5. Yeah but they didn't split the bands into two days. It's the same lineup each day.

  6. Ow that’s heartbreaking indeed. It’s horrible that he’s gone. Still find it difficult to believe at times

  7. I only discovered Frightened Rabbit after he died but knew nothing about it, only when I tried looking into them did I find out and it honestly wrecked me. I’d been relating to a lot of the songs because, you know, depressions fun and then to find out he didn’t survive it… just heart breaking.

  10. I think Discord is popular with the younger crowd because it presses our instant gratification button (not that this button is unique to young people in any way, but still). You reply and get replies immediately. An online conversation that’s happening in real time holds your attention because it mimics what you’d be experiencing in your real life; except it /is/ your real life, because the lines between your online persona and your offline persona are increasingly blurry. Combine it with the idea that social media in general is designed to reward us for engaging in surface-level, short-term interaction—to people who didn’t experience life before today’s Internet, there’s no more logical place where you’d want to spend your time and where you /do/ end up spending your time.
