  1. IT'S EXACTLY HOW TOM AND MARK TALKED WHEN THEY WERE STARTING THE BAND BLINK 182

  2. The movie looks lame unfortunately. It's supposed to be this Stranger Things/ET/Goonies supernatural adventure but... the characters are all like 25? One guy is having a tantrum with his mom and says "DAD NEVER THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY!" which could be a touching moment coming from a courageous 14 year old trying to expose the truth but uhhh, doesn't quite ring true from a full fledged adult. I was kiiiinda intrigued by the idea of a comedy/adventure written by Tom but this looks dead in the water.

  3. mark says no touring this year. his doctor said he needs until the end of the year to be back to 100% physical strength after chemo. other than that he has been recording.

  4. i don’t mean to be insensitive but i think he struggles with some mental illness. his symptoms remind me of bipolar disorder, specifically manic episodes of furiously using social media then disappearing for months (more of a thing of a few years ago, but he still does this). not that going off the grid is grounds for an armchair evaluation, but some descriptions of his behavior in the years since 2005 lead me to believe he loses the plot from time to time. not to mention the grandiose visions, egomania, unfinished projects, announcements

  5. Seeing him fully going back on his TTS/scams/aliens bullshit on social media and stuff just makes me wonder whether he goes OFF his meds or goes ON cocaine every several months.

  6. I’m legit shocked that some people think this looks okay. Seen one or two reddit comments that seem genuinely excited after the trailer and it’s like… have you never seen anyone act ever or what? The way the trailer is even edited is fucking bad, nothing about this looks good.

  7. The new Joyce Manor singles are fucking awesome. They just bring the perfect amount of the emo/punk rock stuff we (and they) grew up on where it sounds totally authentic and fresh but still nails the nostalgic feeling.

  8. I took a survey today that I think was from Apple. I was asked about several tech companies and was asked "do you feel like Apple is threatening?" and I said "yes" and the next question was "WHY DID YOU SAY THAT ABOUT APPLE?" and I said "I dunno".

  9. They're still as dead as they were in July 1st, 2016.

  10. I don’t really keep up with blink news but can anyone update me? Anything happening? They making new music?

  11. Yeah you guys but did you hear that bit at the end about fucking the guys dad? CLASSIC Tom

  12. Hi all. I'm new to the boards. I wasn't sure where the best place to post this was, so I apologize if there was a previous thread already about people's collections. I checked with one of the mods first though, and they said it was ok! Anywho - I just wanted to share some pics I just took of the Blink merch. collection I gathered during my teen years. I don't think there's anything particularly rare in there, but it's definitely special to me. I was hoping to connect with some fans - particularly people who came onto the train around Enema like I did. As you can see, my merch. highly reflects being a fan that got involved around 99' as a 13 years old girl. I would still consider them to be my fave band, but haven't explored anything under the actual "Blink 182" name since the reunion occurred with Neighborhoods and the shows around that time. Should I get over this and give the Skiba albums a listen?....I'm scared to, haha. I feel like he's like my dad's new girlfriend and I'm not comfortable or something....... If you see anything in my collection that strikes your fancy and you'd like to see better pics (of the inside of a magazine or some such thing, just lemmy know!). I'll look forward to interacting with you all on here. Link to more/better images: Thanks, Quinn

  13. Years ago, I worked in a call centre where I did surveys with people. One time, someone gave a low rating on a company's performance on something or other and there was a follow-up question about why and she said "I don't know, I've been answering randomly." It was great. I suspect that kind of thing happened fairly often, but most people probably didn't get caught with a follow-up question.

  14. and really that's the thing about any album-to-album discussion, for a band that's been around so long. everything is tied to age. everything. jacket came out when i was 24, so the album (lyrically) felt very cringe to me. "kids can't vote adults elect them" on the first track and i was out. years and years later, i actually like jacket (musically) more than enema.

  15. @Quinns86 would you be willing to complete an exit survey?

  16. No offence, but your posting history makes it hard to interpret your posts as intentionally silly.

  17. Everytime I Look For You definitely stands the test of time for me. I'm not sure why, I wasn't hugely obsessed with it back in the day or anything. Online Songs, on the other hand, I've always loved, yet I see it consistently shit on in Reddit polls and listed as an all time bad blink song.

  18. I think it was genuine. They were in their late 20s, but it made sense on a 'lets influence this generation we just left and let them know how bullshit all that high school stuff really is'. They were still overgrown pranksters, which was pretty big thing in the early 2000s. Jackass, Punk'd. It was a time. Silly looking back, but Emo rap didn't exist yet.

  19. My favorite nowadays is Roller Coaster. And then Everytime I Look foe You.

  20. the rick podcast was interesting. he basically confirms scott brought all of the bullshit upon himself. we always assumed that but never heard it directly from the guy who had to officially remove him. i also do not understand his opinion on toypaj. there were a couple "tone shifting" tracks but for the most part it was just enema pt 2.

  21. As many times as it gets them PR i imagine

  23. Rick is so cool for sure but the fact that he let Tom act the way he did in 2005 will always rub me the wrong way
    1 point
  24. the fact that Tom's been hyping up "multiple feature films" since 2005 and the second one isn't even out yet is just... ugh lol I guess the 15th one might be out in 2095 or something.

  25. @daveyjones come show her you’re just an older version of the rest of us lame asses.

  26. *Don't say it, don't say it, don't say it, don't say it, don't sa* I didn't know Travis was engaged to a man. Good for him!

  27. Hi, I’m the guy who no longer posts here. Glad you joined. I always love dropping by on occasion when people share their collections of old blink stuff (you’d absolutely hit it off with Davey), so it’s kind of nice to get an opportunity to say hi. Those blink magazines are rad. Gotta ask, in what order would you bang the following: -Mark -Tom -Travis -Mark’s Wife -Tom’s old wife Jen -Travis’s fiancé

  28. Hahahahaha. I can't stop laughing at that pic of Tom. Omg, I love em'....god bless his heart but, that photo is really funny for some reason. He's like....in his business attire, and I can't.

  29. It’s funny because now I think of Enema and TOYPAJ as being extremely similar albums. I think of them as a pair.

  30. I love these kinds of posts. Seeing collections is always fun for me. Unfortunately most of my blink collection is in storage 1000 miles away at my mom’s house lol but I’d love to try and get photos of my entire collection one day. I haven’t seriously collected in probably a decade but everything I had I kept.

  31. I'm realizing also that my copy of Neighborhoods, +44 & any other side projects stuff isn't in the bin with my "blink stuff"....I'm sure this means something Psychologically but, maybe I'll put it all together at some point.
    1 point
  32. Thanks! I'm pretty weird too, I mean...I grew up listening to Blink...how could I not be ;). Ok, I'll listen to them!

  33. Those are awesome! The magazines really give off some good nostalgia. I would definitely check out Neighborhoods. It's nothing like the prime days of blink, style wise, but it's pretty well received on these boards. If you loved the early/prime blink stuff, you may like California on, but I personally hate it with every bone in my body. Too cheap for me.

  34. Welcome to the boards! Nice collection - the amount of teen girl magazines they were in those days was quite hilarious. personally I don’t care for the Skiba records but lots of fans dig them so you may like them, worth giving them a go!

  35. Man this is so depressing. Tom is legitimately evil for taking advantage of these poor saps. 15 large films in the works… how many see the light of day? Setting the over/under at 1.5. Who is he making these films for?!? A couple thousand people might actually see these films, and that’s perhaps generous.

  36. Welcome and nice collection! You’re my age and started listening to blink at same exact time lol. I guess 35/36 is probably a huge demographic of blink fans currently lol. I remember having that Rolling Stone magazine and putting the cover page on my bedroom door lol. I also had the hoody version of your blue t-shirt.

  37. I would have been more surprised if the Empire Club wasn’t a blatant cash grab that randomly fizzled out. We have seen this same song and dance going back to the Army of Angels fan club. Dude has been a broken record since 2006. He has spent more time scheming and scamming with AVA than he has in blink-182. How can the tombots not be fed up yet? Is this Tom Delonge’s legacy? Clock is ticking..
    1 point
  38. It’s sad because if Tom never left blink in 2005, he probably could have built blink into this massive multimedia project thing for adolescents and mark and Travis could have kept things within reason and gotten massive funding from labels, investors, etc. under the blink name to do these ambitious things he wanted to. Instead this is the type of stuff we’ve gotten since 2005, cool ideas that are underfunded / half assed and completely chaotic in direction since he has to have all of the control. Its not unbelievable to me that blink would be playing stadiums right now like Coldplay and the killers and potentially even theatrical movies they help produce; but this is where we are.

  39. Really looking forward to the Delongeverse

  40. Many have said this before, but Tom should really start his own alien chasing show. I think so many people would watch that, and would be way better than telling everyone he's part of the government. I would honestly take that over music at this point because that feels like an impossible journey.
    1 point
  41. There has to be other people working with him and telling him to do all these investing grifts, right? I don’t see Tom coming up with this all by himself. But in the end he is the one responsible for it all.
    1 point
  42. there must be other, richer, people giving him money. i doubt his most gullible fans have thousands to spend on shit like this. maybe some will bite on the $750 one but not enough for it to pay a salary
    1 point
  43. It's not a problem if he's no longer interested in writing music or touring but we can't defend the way he always asks for money. "Invest"?? Giving money to his company to keep it afloat is not investing. He sounds like he's trying to lure the more gullible fans into some fucking pyramid scheme.
    1 point
  44. Oh dear, that trailer is baaaaaad
    1 point
  45. I don't even care if he never wants to tour again, or do whatever again, it's his life obviously. It just is so bizarre the way he goes about all of this. Why not just do a kickstarter like a normal artist? There's nothing wrong with crowd-funding. I wouldn't be opposed at all to throw a couple of bucks his way and help fund a movie or something just because I AM a fan of him, but no. He chooses the convoluted scammy route. That's what drives me nuts.
    1 point
  46. Tom’s gonna milk the cows as long as they’re producing. If you got got by the first scam then shame on Tom, if you’re still throwing cash at him after multiple scams, shame on you. As far as I’m concerned the Tom shit talking is warranted. He deserves it just as much as the simpletons deserve their money to be snatched. I’m a giant Tom fan but aliens are dumb, bro and your “company” is retarded. Just shut up and play already.

  47. Objectively speaking, it's a generic b-rate movie trailer with a crazy Tom joke at the end. Visually, it will look okay, but will have a terrible story line and bad acting. We've done this before with Love and Poet Anderson (lol). I seriously don't understand why he wastes his time with this stuff. And then has the audacity to ask his fans to fund it.
    1 point
  48. This is nothing like I imagined. It's ny fault because I fell for it, but Tom has been talking for YEARS about how this movie was supposed to tap into the 80s latchkey kids culture of these California kids going on an adventure/surfing/listening to music and bumping into aliens (and I have a soft spot for those kind of stories) but this trailer is awful.
    1 point
  49. where did i say it was footage of aliens? i said the pentagon couldn't identify what was in the videos; therefore, i don't believe these fat guys on youtube are able to debunk it as a seagull. shoving words in my mouth
    1 point
  50. yeah, these neck beard guys in a garage were able to identify it but the pentagon couldn't. "i use a consumer motion graphics software to make douchey youtube videos. i clearly know how aviation and radar works"
