  1. Here is a vid I got of Roller Coaster last night. The show was a blast, band was shockingly tight and on point from start to finish. It was actually like a professional experience for the first time ever at a blink show with Tom lol. The setlist was perfect, I loved the stage (especially being in the pit), you actually forgot you were at an 18000+ person event. Was crazy. Great to meet you Chewy and good seeing you again Watcher. Wish I could have heard you better and had a chance to talk more but our ears were all shot down there. I think that was my 9th or 10th blink show and it was definitely the best they’ve ever sounded with Tom by a mile. His demeanor on stage was so much better. Dude was at ease and having fun. Skiba also seemed a lot more comfortable playing with Alkaline Trio of course. You could just tell how much pressure was off of him

  2. I love flicking through TikTok and seeing young blink fans. Warms the heart. They have cool parents clearly. My boy is starting to get into blink, he fucking loves Feeling This. I can’t wait for him to explore more.

  3. While I was making dinner I looked at the boards and saw that we were discussing blink-182’s legacy (how many more albums or tours they’ve left in them) then I came back, saw 7 new pages of comments and my heart sank when allsystemsgo said “it’s over when one of them dies” and I wasn’t ready for that kind of talk 😥 It was big a relief to see that after 2 or 3 comments we’re all back to talking about MGK. Blink is still kicking 🚂 and I’m good with that. I don’t know about the legacy, but I’m sure they will run with the 2022 hype for a few more years and release a new album soon I think. After that they can do whatever they want as long as they keep touring every once in a while because I want to have a blink tour to look forward to in my life and because at some point they will have to acknowledge DUDE RANCH with a tour (impossible) or at least a tour where they play a few songs from that album ‼️

  6. this is exciting. interscope is releasing EOTS on all-analog (AAA) vinyl for the first time ever, this feburary. i'm a vinyl collector and somewhat of an audiophile, so this is intriguing for a lot of reasons. all-analog reissues of loudness war/CD-era albums are VERY rare this is blink's first true AAA reissue ever, and first all-analog vinyl pressing since at least 2001 IIRC chris bellman -- widely considered a top vinyl mastering engineer -- is helming the project the blurb claims it is from the "original" master tapes -- not a safety copy, or high-res digital file, indicating the EOTS tapes were unharmed from the 2008 universal fire, which is news on vinyl, EOTS has had a very spotty history -- early vinyl reissues had poor QC and were sourced from inferior digital masters. the well-received 2016 remasters through SRC, done by kevin gray, were very likely digitally sourced as well (not a problem really, just not analog!) EOTS has always been a very loud, compressed-sounding album, intentionally so. that won't change, but it's likely that this could be a serious audio upgrade for it -- there's the potential for it to reveal new depth and details in the sound. jerry finn was meticulous about making these albums, which is why it has always sounded great, even as loud as it is. he was also a tape and hi-fi enthusiast. if they are willing to go back to the tapes for this reissue, it hopefully indicates interest in more -- maybe deluxe versions of the discography, which i know fans have always dreamed of.

  7. I loved big day out too at 14 lol. The banter has changed… It’s slightly more clever, less outwardly offensive and more intentionally dumb for the sake of it. I will say I find it genuinely subversive that they are still so ridiculous on stage. They’re still taking the piss out of the live experience which is hilarious, especially considering the shows now have the musicianship and production to back it up. Anyone who find it cringe, even the fact that they’re older and still doing it, needs to lighten up and stop taking things so seriously.

  8. Cracked me up reading this again Dude pissed away 20 years, some of which in his prime, all to release like 3-4 good songs, none of which were better than blink or BCR at all

  9. I swear I was thinking exactly the same thing while listening to Mother’s Day, When You Fucked Grandpa and Fuck a Dog. I think it’s because these are songs that unfortunately we’ve barely listened to in the last ten years or so (since we all switched to streaming services) and this kinda pushed them into the shadows because they’re joke songs, but they still hit perfectly 🥹 and they are just as good as the other two!

  10. wow. so cool when these official youtube channels for these old late night shows upload clips like these, straight from the original source tape. especially when we've been watching muddy VHS rips of this for 28 years. looks like it was shot yesterday.

  11. Man. It’s really just insane how awesome blink is right now. Vibes are immaculate. We’ve been dreaming of this for 2 decades and here we are.

  12. I think Roller Coaster is right up there with Going Away To College when it comes to "songs that would've been just as huge as all the other hits if they were singles"

  13. The stage itself looks awesome imo. they’ve had the screens with the animations for what feels like forever. now if only they could cut Down from the set….

  14. It's kinda sad knowing that no matter what comes next with the band, new album, tours etc nothing will ever come close to the hype period of the OMT release and tour period. Some of the best time son these boards were during that. Everybody all here as we waited up for OMT song to be released, watching the video for the first time together, the surprise when we got MTYK at the same time. Also everybody here watching that first Coachella performance live and commenting on it in the thread. That was something special. There will be hype periods again but it will probably never reach that level again.

  19. I listened to toypaj this morning on my Sonos speakers in the house. It sounds so fucking good. I think it sounds better than Enema. Jerry Finn is the biggest loss to blink. Album is fucking perfect.

  20. Frequently I found TOYPAJ to be a bland, safe emotionally stunted retread. But increasingly I’ve really appreciated the musicality and small subtleties. For a long time I felt like the weird focus on high school was to its detriment. I still feel like Tom was forcing himself to write about that time period for a lot of reasons — retreating psychologically from fame to a simpler time, trying to connect back to when he fell in love with punk as he was falling out of it, feeling commercially expected to. but overall, I’ve oddly come to respect it. There’s something cute about story of a lonely guy, something pure hearted. Even if does feel a little incel adjacent lmao

  23. Good lord what an annoying conversation! Anyone who ever watched the Cheetah Videos and Album Launch can clearly see they were not in some bottomless pit of depression while writing that album. It's right there on tape. They were being hilarious weirdos and living out their wildest creative dreams in a way they hadn't even attempted before. They were still in a strange part of life in their late 20s/early 30s that I'm sure many of us can actually relate to, when family stuff can get weird, friendships fray, mental illness has a tendency to rear its head, they had babies at home which is incredibly beautiful but also incredibly stressful and anxiety inducing especially combined with the guilt of being away so much, the country was newly at war, the pressure and monotony of "being Blink" was getting to them, etc etc etc. It's ridiculous to think they were "miserable" and down in some dark hole at the time, but it's also ridiculous to think they were happy go lucky millionaires chasing a trend. I happen to think it was a very honest and earnest account of all of those feelings. It's strange to me that diehard Blink fans could think it was all one way or the other after 20 years haha.

  24. you know what song is SO fucking good? adam's song. it's a miracle of a song. it has every ingredient that i love about this band. the lyrics, how they flip the meaning at the end, but leave room for misconception. the vocals and vocalizations behind the chorus. the grungy triple-guitar on the chorus that just blasts you in the face. travis illustrating why he was the right fit for the band, with an algebraic drum pattern that works. the roger manning piano part that arrives like a light in the darkness. the video, with the pictures, and memories, and the cuts between. it might be the band's single best song.

  25. Guy took time from his loving family and fulfilling life to humble brag on a blink 182 fan site. Clearly he wasn't bothered at all.

  32. I mean yeah maybe the mom jokes are past their prime, but I was standing right next to a mom and her 12 year old son and the look of horror on her face when Tom said “your moms are so beautiful when they cum” was priceless. She was clearly a huge blink fan though so it was all in good fun. What I appreciated the most was that the banter was constant throughout the set. Growing up listening to TMTATS and seeing them live in the early 2000s, then catching them on the first reunion tour and only having like 4 spots of banter was a bit of a letdown. This show just felt like a real blink show (even more so than when I saw them 2 years ago in Minnesota) and I’m so glad I got to experience it. Maybe I’m just getting older, but I’m very aware that one day, for any number of reasons, I’ll never get to see them again. Enjoy it while it lasts! I hope everybody here is able to see them at some point ❤️

  36. Am I the only one who didn’t expect Skiba to come out for BTD? Also, I gotta say it because it has bugged me for years and it’s just more obvious in a venue like that but blink crowds are some of the lamest fucking crowds I’ve ever seen. They didn’t move a fucking inch for the whole duration of Online Songs. If I went to one of the shows people would hate me and probably try to have me kicked out just for daring to jump around and move a little bit. Shits weak as fuck

  37. NO FUCKING WAY, this is unbelievable. I was out all day and completely forgot the tour started last night, and I missed everything!! I don’t even know what to say about the TOYPAJ songs, I can’t believe it!! But this confirms that we are still deep into the best blink era and I have a feeling the future will hold some more awesome surprises for us. @King Cobra JFS 4Everthis should appeal to you too since there are no backing tracks. That one guy with his arm raised, singing along to the cover of Hope is definitely my brother from another mother. Whoever’s going to see them on this tour, send a thought my way when they play Hope.

  39. calling it, one of the best sets of their career. people have done a lot of complaining about the set over the years, but no one can say they haven't really given it their all since reuniting -- rotating in songs like hope, man overboard, GATC, wishing well, turpentine, easy target, not now, cynical, wendy clear, m+m's, roller coaster, online songs, natives, as well as mini +44/BCR covers. it's mind-melting for a fan, honestly. it's way more effort than they gave the last time around (09-14). i didn't get to watch the full stream but the opening was hilarious, and starting with rock show is a little bold -- not sure they've ever used that as an opener before. it's a testament to the spirit with which they're building these shows. it's a lot more interesting than it's ever been.
