I am pretty sure he did mention the hollow body being lighter as another reason he uses them. But yea I never thought the Strat looked like a toy on him at all lol

I still think it's kind of silly. It's not as if the a larger guitar body would make the playability better for a tall person. If anything, I'd think the lighter weight would have been a big draw because of his back issues.

Reminds me of how Tom switched to semi-hollow body guitars partly because they're larger and he's quite tall. I always thought that was a goofy reason.

Yeah, I was into them in high school and they were pretty revered back then. Dig Me Out and The Woods were my two favorites. if you want to make a case that Fever To Tell is a punk records, it's not that outlandish. it just feels like a record that has punk moments. A+ experience either way.

And if you are doing a “greatest punk albums” list, you also need way more representation from Fat Wreck and Epitaph beyond just NOFX and Rancid. And you have to throw in some hardcore bands from the last 20 years like Have Heart or Ceremony, an AFI album, Jimmy Eat World for some emo-punk balance and at least one Blue Album or Pinkerton. I couldn’t see everything because that multi-column layout is awful but I really hope Jawbreaker and Bad Religion are in there somewhere.

Easily one of the most irritating best punk albums lists I’ve ever seen. I am a huge Wire, Gang of Four, X fan but jesus christ, if you’re putting them in the top 10 alongside Patti Smith, the Stooges and the New York Dolls while the Dead Kennedys and DRI are buried at the bottom, just say it. You’re making an art punk/protopunk/post punk canon list, not a real punk rock top 100. As a general punk ranking this feels extremely NYC-critic brain. And I’m saying this as someone who actually listen to most of the stuff Rolling Stone is pushing here. Seeing DR in that list is so strange! But I love it haha
