  1. I don't know anything about that brand, but typically the inexpensive starter guitars on Amazon have spotty quality control and, as a beginner, you might not be able to tell whether there are issues or what specifically they are. If you buy one, I'd suggest bringing it in somewhere for a set-up (or if you're friends with any experienced guitarists, you could ask them if it plays well) to make sure it's as playable as it can be. But of course a set-up costs money and will probably cancel out a lot of the savings from buying a guitar like this on Amazon.

In my opinion, you'd be better off going to a guitar shop and buying something there. It'll probably cost more, but most shops will make sure the guitar's set up properly and if it's not, they should let you bring it back for a free set-up or return/exchange it if there are major issues.

Not trying to be a douche here, but when Shake It Off came out it almost was my last straw as a TS fanboy. I had to reconstruct my fanhood. My first instinct was to cry sellout when I heard that song. I hated it for quite awhile before I got over it.

But once I got it, I was all in. Probably similar to the TOYPAJ to Untitled experience

I hated Shake It Off when I first heard it too. I'm still not a huge fan, but it's a lot of fun live. Blank Space is the song that really made me a fan.

Not sure if it was obvious, but one of the last scenes with Keeley proposing a Richmond women’s team to Rebecca definitely seemed like a suggested spin off series

Yeah, I thought the same thing.

Sweet! I was about to ask you if you got it in yet. How is it, any complaints?

I'm quite happy with it overall.

It had some of the common QC issues with this reissue (logo placement on the headstock is a little off, an edge of the pickguard is chipped and I basically had to do a full set up... the action was stupidly high and the intonation wasn't great), but nothing major and it's playing great now. I still need to oil the fretboard because it's incredibly dry, but I'll wait until the first string change to do that.

I've also discovered that I don't particularly like that volume knob placement, but I'm sure it's just a matter of getting used to it.

  5. Fender would have been stupid not to reissue the TD strat. So many of the people who started playing guitar because of Tom have the disposable income to drop on a $1k+ guitar now. Add in the resurgence in blink's popularity and the fact that Tom's back with Fender and it was a no-brainer.

Exactly. The big thing for me is this comes with an upgraded bridge, one that was actually on the guitars Tom played himself. The ones on the OG production models were cheap and uncomfortable for palm muting. I still probably won’t buy one but that brand new surf green is fucking eyeing me god damnit

And MIM Fenders are so much better now than they were 20 years ago, at least in general.

as a collector the original would have more value than the reissue though.

I'm sure that will be true in the future, but for now, I can't see many people being willing to pay the same/more for a used one when brand new models are flooding the market.

With currency conversion rate and taxes, this sucker is going to cost me like $2k hmmmm

It's a steal compared to the cost of the old Mexican version on reverb these days. You could always wait for the value of those to drop (which I imagine this reissue will cause) and buy one of those.
