  1. Disappointing news, but understandable. I love everything up to My Dinosaur Life and still listen to them pretty regularly. Commit This To Memory is still one of my favourite albums of all time. Go and Panic Stations really didn't do much for me at all, but it's always sad when one of your favourite bands breaks up. They had a good run and their tunes are here to stay.
  2. There we go, that's a bit neater.
  3. Really well done dude You should go back and record the vocal harmonies over the top too, your voice is really good and it would really add a lot to it.
  4. Yeah sorry guys, I get emails when someone posts a new topic in here but I've just been super busy lately. I'll have a look at this today, if I can put them in a sub-group so they aren't all displayed at once then that would probably be the best thing to do.
  5. I've just increased it to 250kb. Realistically any image the size of an avatar shouldn't get that big but that's not big enough to cause any problem if a few people use avatars that large. Upload away!
  6. It's kept small because with lots of members the size really adds up over time, so I've kept it at the default which I think is 50kb (which is plenty for a 150px by 150px image). How large is the image you are trying to use, and what format is it?
  7. Always been my favourite.
  8. I love it, Deftones never fail to impress.
  9. I'll try and describe the game as best I can without spoiling anything. It's all based on one big island, most of which is open to explore right from the start. The design and graphical aspects of the game are bright and colourful, the environment varies a lot and you can sometimes even enjoy yourself just wandering around enjoying the scenery, they've really done a great job of making the game look and feel beautiful. There is no music, and only environmental sounds (wind, running water, leaves blowing etc.), not even any birds chirping as the island is completely uninhabited other than yourself. This is done really well and adds a lot to the immersion. Nothing is explained right from the start, there's really no obvious instruction at all so you have to learn the mechanics yourself right from the start. As you know it's all based around maze puzzles which are mostly presented as a grid in which you draw along the grid lines from a start point to a finish point, but there are lots of different rules that are in these puzzles (it's not just draw from the start to the finish). Part of the fun is figuring out how each of these works so I won't explain too much, but to give you an early example there are puzzles that have black and white dots on various squares and the objective is to draw around these dots in such a way that the white dots are separated completely from the black dots by the line you draw. The puzzles are laid out so that there are a few very basic ones that you can kinda guess your way through and figure out what the various symbols are expecting you to do. There are also a lot of areas that have puzzles that need to incorporate the environment (you might need to look at a nearby shadow, or the shape of a nearby trees branches). These environmental clues are some of the coolest parts, there's a lot of really clever ideas. Like any puzzle game there are frustrating moments where parts simply seem impossible or there is little advice on how to progress, but because most of the map is open from the start you can leave an area and try somewhere else before coming back and you'll often find the solution comes a lot easier after working on some different puzzles. You might have also missed some easier examples of a puzzle type elsewhere on the map (there are areas that are kind of 'tutorial' areas for certain types of puzzles) and when you finally figure out a difficult one it just feels that much sweeter. It's hard to explain too much more without giving exact examples of puzzles which I think would be a mistake as figuring them out is half the fun, but if you have any specific questions I'll happily answer them!
  10. Been playing The Witness, the new game from Jonathan Blow who made Braid if anyone ever played that. It's doing my head in but I just can't put it down, it's impressive that he's made a game purely based around maze puzzles that stays interesting.

    Grimes

Saw her at a festival a few years ago and she was great, haven't heard her new album yet but I really like Visions.

    Metal

Nice dude, I saw Down open for Alice in Chains back in 2014 and they were great, Phil Anselmo is a nutcase. Deftones will always be a favourite too.

    Metal

Any of you folks in to metal? I used to listen to nu-metal back in high school (Korn, Drowning Pool, Static-X) but stopped listening to it when I started listening to more punk. The last 2 years I've been slowly getting in to more metal and discovering some of the cool subgenres, these days I probably listen to more metal than anything else. Some of my favourite metal bands: Gojira Shining (weird mix of metal and jazz) Strapping Young Lad (and really anything Devin Townsend has done) Rotting Christ
  14. I listened to this when you sent it to me a couple of weeks ago Aria, I really liked it! Your poetic lyrical style has translated really well in to this format, sounds ace.
  15. Devastating. Thoughts are with his loved ones. He won't be forgotten.
  16. The new version doesn't use BBcode at all if that's what you mean. It uses straight HTML and you can hit the 'Source' button up the top left when posting to write in HTML if you want.
  17. I've been playing World of Warcraft again. Somebody, help.
  18. Just installed a plugin that lets you see this (go to someones profile, bottom left). Unfortunately I don't think it's going to show screen names from before the upgrade because screen name history isn't built in any more so it will only start keeping track of them now, but after some time this should be useful again.
  19. Yeah it's taken me a while to get used to the idea, but I've found the more recent versions of most forum software is starting to get rid of them so it's an inevitable change really. We will all get used to it!
  20. Yep! Basically the text editor is now WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get), so when you want to post a Youtube video or an image you know it will only show up if it shows up as you're typing your post. For anything like videos or images you need to hit Enter after typing/pasting the URL which will prompt it to render it correctly. Also means no more mucking about with BBCode tags!
  21. Yeah all the sections are only visible to the users that had access to them before, whether it's based on groups they're in or post count. Made sure to check that, from memory there was some stuff in the challenge boards that people might not want to share haha
  22. Have seen other people say they have issues too, I'm unable to replicate that. Seems to work every time from here. What browser are you using?
  23. All you need to do is paste the youtube link, hit Enter to go to the next line and it should automatically embed the video, like so:
  24. Sorry for the late response mate, I've been away. In case you haven't found the setting yet, you just have to click your name up the top right then choose 'Account Settings'. You should then see a 'Signature' tab on the right-hand side where you can enable/disable signatures and edit your signature.
