Maybe they were just getting a bit older and wanted to write a more mature and darker album after writing 4-5 pop punk records? It's not that deep, it came straight after Tom did Boxcar as well so they clearly had that itch to scratch. It's not unauthentic to me, doesn't mean they were depressed either but none of us will every really know they were feeling when writing that album so why argue so much about it? It's a great album in my opinion and felt genuine to me and a lot of others. Rick Devoe is a fucking rat as well, using him to make an argument isn't making it any stronger.

I think the latest tour will likely attract more hardcore fans, casuals are more likely to be one and done whereas the die hards will likely come back for more. Great to see deep cuts and hopefully they do the same next time they come to Europe.

Disagree completely. Sure as a one off it's a fun thing but throw all four of them in into a full-time band with an extra frontman and it could throw the dynamic off. The best music they've ever made is with Mark, Tom and Travis. I think they can do the odd cameo here and there when the time is right bit the four of them as a full time band just wouldn't work. They're at their most organic when they are the the post Rayner trio.

That was cool, was nice to see the 4 of them together as a one off but I have no interest in him doing any form of recording/more performances together ever other than the odd song if they are playing the same festival or something along those lines.

Out of curiosity, what's the tracklist?

I kinda wished they didn't bother with Part 2, none of the songs have any staying power for me and it's quite easy to see why none of them made part 1. Same goes for the bonus tracks. Less is more sometimes, should have just stuck with the original 15 tracks, most of which I still really like.

If I could pick a dream Offspring set where I pick my 17-18 favourite songs of theirs it would be fucking awesome to see them live. Shame there is so much dross as well in their catalogue that I would probably have to listen in between the few songs that I'd actually want to hear.

...I always genuine and true to myself, probably why I never won BOTBM. Real shame this place doesn't reward authenticity.

I was there, the sound was actually a little bit shit the first third of the set (very quiet) but they sorted it out in the end. Thought it was brilliant and they seemed like they were loving it too. I do sometimes wish Tom's guitar packed a little bit more punch though, lead heavy songs and palm muting can sound a little bit empty at points.
