  1. Everyone saying that it will be good for Mark "not to feel constrained by blink expectations"....are you fucking dumb? The only reason blink now has "expectations" is because Mark has forcibly and purposely put them into the self-created, pop-punk, stereotypical-sounding box. No one wanted something like California, especially after Matt joined, and we got the most cookie-cutter sounding blink album because Mark wanted to become relevant and put on the radio again. In no way to I feel sympathy for this random box Mark feels blink has to be a part of, and the longer blink is controlled by Mark and Feldy, the more I believe Mark is either too scared to pursue any alternative ideas, or he just doesn't have any anymore (probably a combination of both, tbh). Tom drove the bus during Self-Titled, and clearly tried to during Neighborhoods. He forced Mark to also write quickly and without much thought with the DED album, which still is miles ahead creative-wise than anything on California 1/2. Mark was also free to experiment with +44 as much as his heart content, and he made a fucking awesome record. The problem was, he received no money or recognition from it. The guy can't survive being out of the limelight (just look at all his collabs with pop-artists and relevant pop-punk bands post-breakup), and clearly wants to keep the blink money circulating through the mainstream.... And while all that is fine and dandy, in no way do I think that it sucks or is terrible or a problem that Mark has because of blink. He willingly created the problem that is now blink's hardcore cookie-cutter, pop-punk sound. And it suck$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Hah you're right they did; that was poor grammar. I meant the criticism to be in tandem rather than separate. Reducing the goaltenders gear has been enough clearly, though in my opinion too much.

  4. Exactly the point. Entire show was incredibly meta, and what I found interesting was that it referenced your "mistakes" in the show as well (if you chose a certain way of going, which the show decided was moot and made you go back, it would actually reference it slightly. For example, when you get sent back to choose to work from home instead of in the office, they reference the fact you've been there before. So, when they force you to choose certain pathways, as you said, one of the overarching themes is to be questioning your free-will and ability to make decisions. Are you making the decisions, really? It's a bit of a blunt way to get you to think of that, but there's so many levels of this same theme arising that I think it was crafted pretty creatively. Originally, I really disliked the episode for the same reason. Then, after going down the hole deeper, I really fucking loved that episode. Anyone else go down the route where "explain what Netflix is" was an option? Had a good laugh about making the life more exciting.
  5. Because, and thank god, this sounds nothing like Cali
  6. His first show with his new band was cut short because he was pretty much blackout if I recall - I also think think they went crazy and got youtube to remove any and all videos of it? I can't seem to find any online but I'm fairly certain that was a thing
  7. Tom is an unlimited tank of decent ideas - but needs Mark and Travis to really get there. He's tried for over a decade to do it alone and proved he can't - even in his prime (The Adventure). But jesus, Mark literally cannot produce any original or thought provoking ideas. Tom pushes Mark, and actually pushes him, to become a better musician. IT MAKES ME SO MAD - HOW DO THEY NOT SEE HOW MUCH BETTER THEY ARE TOGETHER! Ugh.
  8. Hayley Williams doing something for attention? Well colored me surprised...
  9. deadmau5 had a creative way about going about playing his fan-favourite song and pretty much makes fun of everyone who likes it. but still knows how important it is to the show. hilarious live stuff here Pretty much, halfway through the set and into the intro, all the music gets cut off with him helling FUCK. FUCK. FINE. FOR FUCKS SAKE. (Then the video starts). Followed by a bunch of stupid animals with his mask looking disabled rendered onto a bunch of weird animal bodies and a shot of him slamming his head onto a keyboard to the beat - including memes of him puking and wearing the dealwithit.jpg glasses
  10. Lmao, yeah they should <<definitely>> do the tour without what is essentially the one guy holding this "band" together! Could you imagine them trying to sell blink as blink, with just Mark Hoppus. It wouldn't surprise me if they had tried, but good god that would be a low-point in the "we have sold out to live comfortably" era of blink for sure.
  11. Yea, the post where it was on the Strange Times script talking about a Sex Ed class in highschool, going in detail of the dildo or something they were using to put the condom on. It was super weird.
  12. I feel bad for Tom. Dude could have had any woman he wanted in the world at one point - and now, the one that he chose to stick by him through thick and thin and sickness and health (and good God is he not healthy) ends up bailing. Hard to blame her, but at the same time sucks for him too. For real though, I think anyone who sticks with their highschool lover is bound to have an incredibly difficult time staying positive with their S/O over time. People change...like, a lot after highschool. Hell I feel like I change every year. The idea of staying with the exact same person is baffling to me because by the end of it, you're two completely separate people. It's not wrong - it's just natural. I feel like you don't really get a grip or an idea about who you are and what you want probably into your later 20s at the earliest.
  13. I remember I was flipping shit - I showed my dad the song and he immediately said "HASN'T THAT GUY RELEASED THIS SONG ALREADY? IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS" and my soul was crushed.
  14. That is complete horse shit lmao edit: let me rephrase that. For every "benefit" alcohol has, there comes about 10 more absolutely horrendous things it can/will do to your body. Do not pretend as if drinking a completely processed, manufactured drink containing fucking ethanol comes as a benefit to your health. But yes, compared to other poisons like coke and chips, perhaps it may be preferred - though you are comparing which flavor of shit you'd like to put into your body at that point.
  15. I can relate to the lyric "the ice is really cold" but idk about you
  16. Who cares what the "source" says, they have said two things. One is that Tom is insane (wow I cant believe it) and that their might be a divorce or separation which is fine - believable. Tom took his wedding ring off his hand so I can believe that sure. The other thing is "Mark is an alcoholic" which is some of the dumbest shit I've ever read on the boards - especially people's reaction to it given there's zero evidence. I'm going to make a fake account with 1 post and post something more believable than Mark being an alcoholic, but with no proof - and I guess by the logic of this board I should get my interview. I don't know - does Tom leaving Jenn to suck dick seem believable? Hey everyone, let's talk about that for the next four pages.
  17. There's a song where he constantly says "This is Californiaaaa" , and his "album" was released even before California had a name, wasn't it? Not to mention it's a random joke song, AND there's a picture somewhere where he has those lyrics written down in his hand before he was kicked out. I also think the whole Suburban Kings and Kings of the Weekend relationship isn't coincidental - talking about their roots etc. These were definitely demos and "odds and ends" of the album. Very blinkish riffs. That being said, you can tell they were just ideas and nothing more. Him turning them into garbage songs was a money grab no question about it .
  18. Dunno if it's been posted, but Mark has a "best songs" playlist on spotify dating back from awhile ago, but hasn't put anything on it since March. There's like 600+ songs. He added Circle Jerk Pit by Tom Delonge this week to it.
  19. The last three pages have been so fucking stupid. "Man, so sad to read all of this, but now everything seems so obvious. Look at all these pictures, it says it all......." All of this fucking shit is random speculation by fans and nothing else, how fucking bored are you guys? There is literally no direct evidence for any of this, except for again - SPECULATION. So fucking dumb. Do any of you guys know alcoholics? I imagine many of you do, and Mark if anything is a functioning alcoholic at the very worst - because there is absolutely no signs of it otherwise. No physical signs, no mannerisms, DEFINITELY not the work ethic signs - insane. The Tom stuff however, I completely think is at the very least, viable speculation. A lot of evidence for the possible separation, and the craziness. It's not a surprise - though with that being said, Jenn just posted a instagram story being with Shon (Tom's brother), which sort of blows all this speculation out of the water too. Which is another reason why this discussion is pretty dumb. Especially the Mark stuff.
  20. Everyone else's speculation is pretty well thought out - but this is the dumbest one yet. Dude - she's been married to him for over fucking 20 years or something? An interview with JOE ROGAN wouldn't have "woken her up", she fucking lived with the guy lmao. She knows a lot more, has seen a lot more, and has lived through a lot worse than what the public saw in the Joe Rogan interview. All the other stuff makes senese though. The twitter one especially - given the fact that they were all about self-promoting themselves.
