  1. I'm jealous of Europe, I feel like EVERYTHING on this tour so far is better than it was a year ago.  Tom's voice has been better, general performance sounds tighter, the stage banter feels more natural and less of Mark babysitting Tom and making sure he doesn't get too off track, and both Mark and Tom seem like they're having more fun out there.  Oh well, I'm sure they'll be touring the US again in the next year or two, and you can bet I'll be there!

  2. Honestly, all I want to see from this tour is blink regain their stage presence.  They sounded great on their NA tour last summer, but they just didn't look like they were into the music the way they used to.  In fact, in general, Tom hasn't had anything near his former in-song stage presence (in AVA or blink) since the breakup in '05.  Also, it would be nice Mark let loose a little, he seems kinda self-conscious now and is hesitant to get too into joking with Tom on stage.

In short, I think blink started to SOUND like blink again on the last tour, and now I'm hoping they'll be able to use this tour to remember how to LOOK like blink and ENTERTAIN like blink.

  3. Agreed, their musicianship has been taken up a notch since their past tours, and I'd imagine a lot of that can be attributed to their other, more "serious" projects.

However, I'm still kinda disappointed in their showmanship.  They just seemed to have a much better stage presence pre-hiatus. Between Tom's strange new moves and Mark skipping lazily around stage smiling (even during songs like Obvious and Stockholm Syndrome), they just don't LOOK like they're into the music, even though they sound totally zeroed in. That's the one thing that I hope to see improve as they continue to tour, record, and re-find themselves as a group.

  4. After going back and watching videos from throughout this tour, I actually really like the way Tom sings now. Yeah it has a very different tone than it did back in like 2000, but those changes happened gradually from 2002 with Box Car Racer all the way up until now, and it seems like his voice can handle more than it could back in '03/'04 (I still remember the KROQ vid of Obvious where his voice just sounds completely worn out at the end). If he would just get rid of the stupid falls at the end of phrases (a bad habit he seems to have picked up with AVA) and one or two other strange quirks, it'd be perfect!

  6. Awesome show, loud as fuck but I loved every minute.  Especially liked when Mark called out Pete Wentz for texting on the side of the stage while blink was playing.  Still wish I had had pit tickets though, but meh, 5 rows back still wasn't bad.  Also thought it was pretty funny that my roommate (who was standing still the whole show, not singing, attempting to draw attention to himself by not joining in the fray) managed to piss Tom off, to the point he tried to spit at him, but the spit fell about a row short

  7. Show canceled, according to their facebook.

"Due to circumstances surrounding the unfortunate and untimely passing of our dear friend Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein, blink-182 will not be playing tonight in Saratoga, NY at SPAC. Performances by Weezer, Taking Back Sunday and Chester French wi...ll take place as planned along with some special surprises. We thank all of our fans for their support in this tough time."
