  1. I pick Neighborhoods, but I do think California has its tracks that are as good as some of the songs off neighborhoods especially love is dangerous and fighting the gravity. I do not think california is as good as the standout tracks off neighborhoods though like Natives, Kaleidoscope, Snake Charmer, Even if She falls. I do think the bonus track is pushing it though in its own right, love that song.
  2. Every time I hear the beginning of left alone it reminds me of this...
  3. The song that has grown on me the most is Left Alone for sure. Love this song. One of the best songs on the album in my opinion. Really glad despite not liking as much of the album as blink's previous works that their are still some gems here and there.
  4. That is actually a great point that I forgot to mention...while Travis does have some standout moments on this record "Like the beginning of No Future." His drumming is far more forgettable and also more generic typically on the album than anything else in blinks discography. Travis usually has a way of taking pretty much every song and adding something super special to it, even if its just one particular moment in each song where your like "How the fuck did he play that?" And being a drummer its super fun to go figure it out... On this album though there are only a few moments like that unfortunately. The more generic music called for more generic drumming I guess. Don't get me wrong he still kicks ass and plays well as usual...just not as much creativity.
  5. After listening to the album more and more...It has grown on me despite still thinking its the worst blink album. I like about 10/16 songs but still think the album as a whole has issues... The entire album is overproduced. Too many harmonies in places they don't belong and many of them do not sound natural. Annoying lyrics at time, blinks worst lyrics of all time in my opinion. Shes out of her mind is the worst blink song ever made in my opinion. I also think california is pretty awful. I cant help but think california would have been hilarious as a joke song that starts of serious and gets super dirty half way through. Album sounds boy bandish at times and too poppy Album sounds like its trying to hard on some of the songs The darker songs like LA and San diego do not resonate with me melodically very well, which is a shame because I am from California.
  6. My band covered down the other night... I messed up a couple times on the drums but whatever. Its okay to post this in here right? I feel like ive seen people post covers in here before.
  7. Although I'm not a huge fan of the California album I gotta stop by just to say I think Kings of The Weekend is a sick song
  8. 1. Self Titled 11/10 2. Dogs Eating Dogs 10/10 3. Enema Of the State 10/10 4. Dude Ranch 10/10 5. Take Off Your Pants and Jacket 9.5/10 6. Neighborhoods 8/10 7. Cheshire 7/10 8. Buddah 7/10 9. California 6/10
  9. Fuck, i wanted to love this album so much but in my opinion its by far blinks worst album. I do not blame matt, i think the problem is feldman. I like about half the songs but the other half i either hate or are meh to me. The whole album is overpoduced and way too poppy. This is more of a change in sound than what tom did with his ava influence. Some strokes of genius scattered throughout but the album is a huge disapointnent for me overall.
  10. Alright listened to most of the album... I am super split on how I feel about it to be honest. I would say right now its about 50/50, My least favorite track right now is probably Shes out of her Mind (sounds super boy bandish to me) Oddly enough my favorite track at this current moment is probably Home is Such A Lonely place... Oh god what a beautiful song (especially the beginning) There are some amazing ideas here and some really good songs but a lot of them just sound so overproduced and poppy. Just my initial thoughts, going to listen to the shit out of it and see if my views change (I didn't think self titled was great when I first heard it)
  11. Was it Travis that was saying Tom wanted the band to sound like coldplay or something? Well congratulations these last two songs have sort of accomplished that. Hahaha (half joking)
  12. A fucking wizard. You scar faced bastard child. Dont let it go to your head.
  13. Man this album is giving me the weirdest mixed feelings on every freeking track haha. On one hand this song is absolutely gorgeous. Truthfully there isn't one song on the album I have really disliked. That being said though, on every single track released I can hear this modern pop vibe that I am not digging...But a lot of the reason I don't like modern pop is because of the bad vocals and lyrics so I am almost wondering if in time it will stop bothering me because these lyrics are better and I really like the vocals. I still think the tracks are a bit overproduced especially with harmonies. Either way though I do like these songs.
  14. Sick song! Once again though jesus...overproduced. Harmonies on the WHOLE FUCKING SONG. Tone it down John
  15. Its interesting to me how much more cool with Tom Travis is than Mark.
  16. The song also sort of reminds me of this song which is a good thing.
  17. One other thing I also like about this song and I am not sure if it was being done intentionally but something I think makes blinks music so infectious is Toms's weird vocals that are strange as shit but also addicting. Matt (especially on the bridge) has that same sort of addicting quality to his voice where he sounds really weird but in a good way. Not sure if this was done on purpose but i like it.
  18. I fucking love the intro verse....classic mark and Travis. Sounds like its straight off of the plus 44 album or even self titled which is fine by me.
  19. This is probably my favorite track so far they have released. I was hoping they would release some music that was more experimental and alternative. I LOVE the drums at the beginning. Classic Travis. Matt feels more and more natural in the band the more I hear him too. What is really weird is I had that drum part in mind before I even started playing it and I was thinking it would be in this song for some reason and there it is! haha My only complaint right off the bat is the overuse of harmonies. I think it should have been toned down on Matts verse on first listen. It will probably grow on me though.
  20. I have a firewire mixer with a few xlr inputs I use reaper for the editing and whatnot I have A couple MXL 990 mics and an audix I5 mic for drums guitar and vocals I used reason for a lot of the drums also
