  1. Hey guys, here's our band page, we're just starting out. This is our newest song: http://soundcloud.com/onetakewonder/once-more www.soundcloud.com/onetakewonder
  2. David and Matt seemed waaaayyyy more akward than Tom and Ilan, which is not what I expected to happen. Except for the conspiracy theory question, then David and Matt were super pumped to answer.
  3. I am not a huge fan of the song to begin with. Its a catchy song, its decent. But it has trouble deciding if its a slow song or a rocker. Travis does some rock fills, but the overall pace of the song is kind of strange to me. This might be why it felt a bit weak live. That and tom's new guitar tone, which I personally like, is really thin at times. It doesn't really fill out the song, especially with the bass being so quiet.
  4. I'm excited to see how mark is with them and how much him and tom are joking around with each other. I'd love to see mark and tom just having a good time with everyone sitting around akwardly.
  5. Such a great performance, that was an unreal show in all, I miss you from that was my favourite live performance ever, soooo good.
  6. Tom's almost embarrassed of his old voice. Singing how to used to sing is fairly easy, just nasally and whiny, difficult to mess up. But then he took vocal lessons and thought he was a real singer and should sing properly, and lo and behold, he just can't. He still does alright at some times but in a live setting he's going to make way more mistakes singing properly than he would by just being nasally.
  7. I agree with you and I personally believe that the best songs were the ones they did together. I really like HAG but I feel like it would have something extra with tom doing harmonies and playing guitars, even if it's just more his style of playing the same things. Same with MH, and I appreciate FTG for it's experiment but it's not one of my favourite songs. If anything I can't say that it's toms fault he wasn't included on those songs, we don't know the inner workings of the band, but I think it just goes to show how much better they are when they're all together and 11 blink songs is better than 0 even if they don't form a very cohesive album.
  8. This was a lot better than the HAG one just because they used way more footage. It's nice to see the guys just having fun doing it and actually talking to each other and shit. If anything though these videos are just making me want a great video for AM more. I personally want to see a story-line video involving the guys First Date/Dammit/Always style.
  9. I don't know if you're talking about me, but I'm not bashing TOYPAJ at all, I love it and totally agree with you. I just also appreciate the newer blink sound as well and feel like they've put a lot more into the song writing on the last two records. Not that TOYPAJ is badly written, just sort of different levels.
  10. Great post totally agree. I appreciate the work put into Neighborhoods. I can look at each song and appreciate what the goal was for it. Even If I am not a fan of every song I have the glass half full mind set when looking at each one individually. I feel like the nay sayers have that glass half empty mind set when reviewing Neighborhoods. Or it's just incredibly blatant that, for the first time in the band's history, they didn't write the songs together. That, coupled with really poorly written lyrics for the latter half of the album, makes it less enjoyable as their past albums. I don't expect you to argue those points though because you're a knob. I agree the lack of collaboration hurt the album, and that the best tracks are the ones they did together imo. I don't know about the lyrics being poorly written, probably not up to par with the lyrics of untitled but better than a lot of other work. The lyrics had good things to say that I could relate to in some way and that's what really counts for me when I'm listening. While I will say that untitled had some beautiful lyrics, blink has had some poorly written lyrics before on all of the albums, especially the earlier stuff, but I still love those songs for what they're saying. Also we can just be thankful that tom wrote far better lyrics on Neighborhoods than anything on Love pt 2, some of that stuff made me cringe.
  11. I feel like on TOYPAJ had all very similarily styled songs so if you like one you like them all, even if some don't stand out as much. Personally I love them all and will never get tired of that album. Whereas I feel like Neighborhoods is so diverse that some people are only going to appreciate some of the album depending on their tastes, other people will appreciate totally different parts of the album, some people may like it all for different reasons. For this reason I think it's hard for somebody to compare the quality of the two. I personally feel like Neighborhoods had a lot more effort and thought put into every song, even if sometimes you feel the band got it wrong they tried. TOYPAJ on the other hand, at the time the band could pump out those pop-punk songs like crazy and while everyone loves those kind of songs and can jam to them it doesn't show the same thought and consideration as the new record. That's why I personally appreciate Neighborhoods more despite the fact that there are some low points and it feels disjointed.
  12. Yah, snake charmer and the machine have very similar riffs, I wouldn't say even if she falls is close to that at all. I don't even see tom reusing a riff on two songs, on the same album :S Well actually I can see that but I don't see mark and travis allowing it.
  13. I don't know if I'd say one of the best on the album, but being catchy never hurt a song. I realize it was supposed to be different so I can keep that in mind when I listen to it and I can appreciate it for what it is, but I won't go around with it stuck in my head all day or rush to put it on.
  14. I agree that love is dangerous isn't the best song on the album but for me there are a lot of good things about it that make it not nearly the worst. The way tom and mark's voices work together on the chorus is awesome and for that reason I'd rate it above FTG.
  15. Tom has said that violence is his favourite song to play live, so I'm not sure that they would have chosen to cut that.
  16. Well they've already added wishing well to the setlist so I can see them throwing in another couple in before the european tour, maybe natives and kaleidoscope. Personally I think they'll open with Ghosts seeing as how that seems to be tom's goal with that song. With an even more drawn out intro and travis doing his thing that could turn out to be really cool.
