The connection between Blink and Simple Plan go back to 1996 as Reset (with Pierre and Chuck) toured on the Sno Jam tour in March 1996. Maybe there's some interesting archives in that new Simple Plan documentary ?!?! for example more from that September Canadian tour! Chuck is even on the side of the stage watching blink (11th March 1996). Hey! I'm the person behind that Blink timeline website, nice to meet you! Also thank you for posting that flyer (never seen it before and it's not registered on the timeline website!) As far as that particular show at the Marché aux Puces, nothing has surfaced besides that ticket stub and the flyer that you posted. However, the band had an interview with Much Music in August 1996 and there's video of that (it hasn't surfaced yet but there are some pictures from that interview). In regards to the other dates from that Canadian tour : we have pictures for the El Mocambo show from 21st September 1996 in Toronto. no existing footage for the other Canadian dates has surfaced yet flyers and posters for the 17th September 1996 show at Salle Orange, poster for the Office date in Toronto. If you have any media related to those Canadian dates, please share them in this thread as that particular Canadian tour 1996 is not very documented and I would love to add more!

There is a recollection of Travis playing with The Aquabats in the amazing book "Harder To Breathe : A Memoir of Making Maroon 5, Losing It All, and Finding Recovery" by Ryan Dusick (highly recommend the book!) One of the bands with whom we toured for a while, a cartoonish ska band called The Aquabats, featured an impressive young drummer named Travis Barker, whom we would watch from the side of the stage most nights. Travis came from a marching band background, and his technique and skill were leagues beyond mine or those of anyone else we watched play, which made me feel even more self-conscious about my own playing. He was so dedicated to his craft that he had a drum pad strapped to his knee most of the day, and he would practice his paradiddles while the rest of us were just hanging out backstage. I didn't even know what a paradiddle was, let alone how to play one as fast as he did with his perfect sticking technique. As a result of this kind of training, he could play with greater speed and precision that I had thought was possible. In my state of self-doubt, I would watch him play with envy, knowing that I was not in the same ballpark in terms of drumming skill. Every other band we toured with was trying desperately to steal him from the Aquabats, and Blink-182 eventually did. Before being called Maroon 5, the band was called Kara's Flowers and toured with Goldfinger, Save Ferris and Reel Big Fish
