  1. he's just the drummer from the aquabats after all
  2. neighborhoods is the best AVA album, actually.
  3. this has been known for a long long time. since the 1970s. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/eric-clapton-vaccine-lockdown-racist-comments-1239027/ the who's pete townshend organized a famous "rock against racism" festival purely in response to clapton.
  4. yea.... no. yuck. made me spin this though:
  5. for sure. these were the two people who recorded and mixed several of the covers on that comp at that same studio in van nuys. CC was recorded in 1994, at both westbeach recorders (mr. brett's epitaph studio) and at doubletime studios (where buddha, the short bus, and uranus songs were tracked).
  6. CD came out spring 97, so i'd say the recording was 1996. i have the before you were punk CD. the liner notes say recorded and mixed at doghouse studios in van nuys, california but there is no date. someone named "dan and kiley."
  7. another wickedly talented legend with a head full of god-awful ideas
  8. i've never listened to anything this kids has done. i just spun this up on your recommendation and it's terrible.
  9. lastly, mark also successfully recovered the cheshire cat multitrack session files.

  11. mark has digitized them, and also the DR multitrack sessions. he says not for a release now. but there is hope... one day...
  12. mark says he doesn't want to release any demo material without tom and scott's approval. he also doesn't want to deal with any legalities or do any homework. uranus will never be on streaming according to marks' management. all kinds of wack rights issues with cargo, and the master recordings seem to be missing. this is brahm, son of the owner (who got his dad to sign blink):
  13. so discord was too fast and too difficult to follow... and now you guys have a discord. LOL
  14. it was noah webster, and it was political. Webster wanted American spelling to not only be more straightforward but different from UK spelling, as a way of America showing its independence from the former British rule. He dropped the letter u from words like colour and honour – which had developed from the French influence in England – to make them color and honor instead. He did the same to words ending in -ise to make them -ize, because he thought American English spelling should reflect the way it was said.
  15. i like tom's noodling hammer-on riffage but it's pretty AVA. the chorus is cringe.
  16. something about the bonus tracks being on import releases. i don't know the details.
  17. mark's management confirmed that there were region-related rights issues for those and they will never be on streaming.
  18. i used to buy all my CDs at absolutepunk in the early 2000s. totally remember them.
  19. we were in beverly hills near his house, first thing in the morning. no, no one recognized him. just the well-to-do coming and going grabbing their daily business.
  20. exactly. when i had coffee with mark in june he was confident, yet vague. "recording this year, touring next year."
  21. also confirmed: skiba is not a baseball fan.
