  1. Ugh. Thanks for sharing Dalton. But is that really your takeaway, the singing? God damnit. I wish I didn’t watch this. If you watch it you’ll know what I’m biting my tongue about.
  2. Yea exactly. I’m not mad about it. I’ll belt the words out if they’re playing it at the show, but I wouldn’t be mad if they replaced it either lol
  3. Just saw an old man at the beach in a Packers jersey. Had my Lions hat on and gave him a GO LIONS. Sorry bastard just stared at me like I was crazy 🤣
  4. If they’re going to keep First Date in the setlis, I see nothing wrong with butchering it. That’s better than pretending he likes it when we know he doesn’t. The video is A-1 but the song itself is mid.
  5. I don’t even dislike Taylor Swift. Especially now that the Trumptards hate her, she’s a good one to have on your side lol. She’s just a convenient example to use for an overexposed mainstream artist.
  6. Sucks that so many fans feel so entitled. I’d be stoked and grateful just to be able to be face to face with Mark or any of the boys and just say thank you for being you and move on.
  7. Edging really did sound great live. I was never huge on the song but that was definitely a takeaway when I saw them.
  8. Stopppp it lol. And stop saying blink was playing club shows in 1999. They were playing arenas and amphitheaters by then.
  9. So you’re like the opposite of me. I personally will take sloppy guitar and vocals over backing tracks to make them sound more like the album. That’s not authentic. I could care less about Tom gargling the words because it’s real. So I don’t agree with your opinion but I respect it. All is well. Go hug your neighbor!
  10. Oh dude I’m chill. I’m not saying people shouldn’t enjoy the shows because of it. I still want everyone to go support them and vibe out at the shows too. I will still be. Doesn’t mean I have to love the use of backing tracks. I can still have my opinion on it. Nobody needs to be a recording and touring artist to understand the concept. Really not sure what Speedo doesn’t think I understand. I’ve been well aware of the use of layered guitars in their recordings since I was a teenager. I’m well aware of the different guitar tracks 1, 2, 3, etc and how each one is even layered individually. I know blink has done that since at least Dude Ranch. I’m also well aware of how Tom would used to perform and which guitar tracks he would decide to perform and which ones he wouldn’t, at which points in which songs. It’s not a hard concept to understand. Tom’s live rig sounded amazing and better than it does now back when he used 3 large amps. It didn’t need “padding.” At the end of the day I’m just glad they’re back together, but it’s dumb to say nobody has the right to criticize anything they do.
  11. EVH didn’t play arena shows in his 50s without backing tracks? Or how do you define “Eruption prime EVH”?
  12. Na. Hard disagree. I understand all of this shit. You don’t need to record or perform live to understand any of this or what’s going on. Also, it’s not weird to think it’s lame to not actually play the guitar coming from the speakers when you’re on stage with a guitar. Not liking it doesn’t equate to not understanding it. What’s weird is how bands ever existed and played arenas before backing tracks existed. Its weird how a lot of bands still do it. Almost like you had to be able to play the songs you create in the studio to get respect. Or, certain bands just didn’t play certain songs if it wasn’t realistic in a live setting. Eddie Van Halen didn’t use backing tracks. And im Not referring to him as an example of that Tom should Be able to play like EVH. It’s a one guitarist rock band that sounded bad ass live playing arenas without the use of backing tracks. Go figure, it is possible!
  13. Why does anyone choose one band over the other? If you’re not a working musician you don’t get to have thoughts and opinions on any musical acts? Or we can only pick on the artists we don’t like? I’m confused
  14. No, it’s not weird. No different than sports fans critiquing their favorite team. Recording some songs doesn’t make your opinion any more valid than someone else’s.
  15. Casual fans? Why do you say that? Because they don’t agree with you? Or Maybe they’re just more so fans of real rock n roll and bands playing what you hear coming through the speakers when they pay big $ for a live performance? Perhaps they just don’t have their blink-182 blinders on like we all would have, and think Offspring sounded better live ? @Midwest Wankers is so triggered right now
  16. You don’t have to be Yngwie Malmsteen to not use backing tracks for doing all the guitar work for you. Simp harder. Tom’s still the man. But I’m sick of simps slandering people for having valid criticisms.
  17. Yea , people grow and evolve. Tom should have evolved into a better guitarist instead of worse and a lazier performer, I agree. He missed a key opportunity to get better given he gets paid to perform!
  18. Yea I feel ya. It’s just something I hate seeing from a band I love so much. 1998 Tom would definitely rip on any bands using backing tracks. And saying anyone who calls it out is just “bitching and moaning about nothing” is not fair or accurate.
  19. Be authentic and do what they did in their prime. They played big shows without it for many years. orrrr here me out. They could drop all the songs with all the extra shit that Tom can’t actually play and add a bunch of Dude Ranch and Chesire Cat songs back into the mix
  20. Yea but the difference is the amount of backing tracks, and specifically all of the guitar backing tracks. When it gets to the point that Tom isn’t even touching his guitar and yet the guitars are still coming through the speakers, that’s a very valid criticism coming from rock fans. To act like it’s not is just being obtuse and playing mental gymnastics. Again, there was a time when acts got cancelled and laughed off stage for this shit. I’ll never buy into the “everyone’s doing it” excuse either. It’s not even remotely true. Maybe “everyone” that the fans who use this excuse listen to do it, but not every act does it. Such a tired and sorry excuse
