  1. Surprised this band doesn't get much notice. I swear I must be the only guy in UK that introduces people to the music of this band. Like blink, they're a massive influence on the songs I write myself. Here's their most popular one (I think) Here's three of my favourites https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MR3wfzLOio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kC29pd_5sQU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YO-4XC5tvK8 Here's their new single, their 3rd album is coming out in October last I checked
  2. I think both seem like great guys, but I reckon I'd be able to relate to Tom more. Never believe what the media portrays. They over exaggerate a lot of crap and I get that same feeling when it comes to Tom. I remember reading somewhere before that as a person, he's pretty humble, respectful and holds a good conversation. Yeah, he has his flaws when it comes to blink, and has done ass things, but you have to know the person before you can judge IMO. I like Mark, but like someone stated above, he's had more of the celebrity lifestyle than Tom. I'd feel like I'd be talking to someone with some kind of upper class trait. With Tom, I'd feel like I'd be talking to one of the guys in the pub.
  3. This was a toss up between Wendy Clear, Anthem & Adam's Song. Man, I had to choose Anthem. My second favourite album of all time to be honest.
  4. Tom DeLonge is a fantastic artist. Every song he's ever been part of has had brilliant ideas I think. That includes AVA as well. His weakness is that when he's going solo, they just don't reach potential. Although there has been a few AVA songs I've felt that are perfect. AVA to me has never been a band. It's a solo project and always has been. The only person I feel has had a credible influence to the sound of AVA is that Critter and maybe Ilan Rubin. The rest are all yes men. As for blink-182 moving on without Tom? It's absolutely the way forward and the right decision as someone "didn't quit but found it hard as hell to commit". Skiba is a fantastic artist and just as good as Tom. I also enjoy the two Sekrets albums way more than any AVA album apart from maybe TDW. The songs Way Bakk When, Voices & Haven't You are killer tracks. Blink needed to be a real band again. As average as I found California, it's a band effort. Neighborhoods wasn't a band effort. Although I do prefer Neighborhoods, I agree with most that it's disjointed but that's partly why I love it. I love the weird and messy tracks. Snake Charmer, Kaleidoscope, Fighting the Gravity, Up All Night, Ghosts on the Dance Floor are clusterfucks but they're fucking tunes. Much like Los Angeles from California. Can't get over how good that song is. I'd like to see Tom back, but only if he gives blink what blink needs. I'm not bothered about his synth U2/Coldplay ideas. They can work with the right people. The smiley face album has proved that and Neighborhoods has kind of proved that it can work despite how much of a mess it is. Tom just has to commit if he's to return to blink. And should he ever return, Skiba should also stay.
  5. My conclusion of the album. Seriously, it's an ok album, not good or bad. I still could do without Feldy in the future! But no more woahs.
  6. I used to love it. But I listened to it at a time when I was so easily bored and probably listened to each song like 5 billion times in a row. Obviously exaggerating but kind of made myself dislike it by doing that. Funnily enough, the songs I love from that album to this day are the songs I didn't like too much back then.
  7. I adore Enema too. TOYPAJ on the other hand, outside of a few songs, I don't really like. To me it isn't as genuine as Enema. I find California better than TOYPAJ though. I had a conversation with someone about this before, but it's the future work of blink-182 I'm most excited for. California is a transition album for me. At the end of the day, I'm glad its made. I'm glad blink are number one in the charts. About time for some good bands to appear at the top again.
  8. As a blink-182 fan who has been listening to them since 2000, I'd like to say California isn't great but it isn't bad either. There are songs I love (Hey I'm Sorry, Los Angeles, Home, Left Alone, San Diego) and songs I find absolute trash (Sober, California, Rabbit Hole & TOTTM). The other tracks I just find average or solid. My gripe with the album is that it simply doesn't sound like blink-182. My favourite album is the smiley face album, which at the time didn't sound like blink-182. The difference IMO is the smiley face album to this day is still so original. No band sounds like that at all. No band has done a sound like that except blink themselves. California mostly sounds like songs rehashed from All Time Low, Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, Good Charlotte and heck, even Paramore and Busted. That's what I hear. Like Oliver, I can't stand all the WOAAAAH or NANANANANA crap. I don't mind it every now and then, but almost every song is boring. There are even AVA tracks that I find better than all the tracks of this album. Keep in mind I do not like AVA much. I believe that's a band with great ideas that fall flat. Neighborhoods has its trash songs too, but its best songs are better than anything on California IMO. I'd rather blink-182 come up with something totally different and make that sound their own, like they did with the smiley face album. California doesn't offer that apart from maybe two tracks, which isn't enough for my liking. I too would rather blink avoid Feldy for future albums. Blink doesn't need Tom, but it also doesn't need co writers and producers coming up with everything. I'd rather a producer just let blink be blink, then work on the great ideas in order to reach full potential rather than fall flat like AVA.
  9. I enjoy the DED EP. WIWY and PLG are two of my favourite ever songs by blink, but there are way too many favourites to list from their entire history.
  10. I think Home should be a single. I also think they should include a less radio friendly song as a single, like Adam's Song, STFTK & Down from previous albums. Maybe Los Angeles, but if they were to do that, they need something like SOOHM before that IMO. BTD > HISALP > SOOHM > LA.
  11. Any of you guys think Home is Such a Lonely Place is the Not for Real song Mark mentioned a few years back? That song was meant to be about his kid as well.
