  1. Dammit is a kickass closer. So good that even 2000’s cover bands (that play many artists) will put Dammit as theirs.
  2. Guarantee Dammit comes back as the closer closer. OMT is likely an era-specific thing for now.
  3. I’d like to throw Peggy Sue into the hat, or Voyeur.
  4. @One Tree Hill Jan thoughts on The Offspring?
  5. Huge fan of the live Down outro, especially the 2014 version.
  6. The diamond stage layout from their U.S. tour last year was rad, but I love seeing them back up on stages here with the standard layout. It’s cool having them roam around again.
  7. Those are definitely some of their best. Huge fan of My Alien. I see why you view the voices as similar. They’re both high and nasally, as you mentioned. The main difference between the two is their style. Pierre often does the lower, relaxed, and more conversational style of singing. For example: My Alien, the verse in I’m Just a Kid, the verse in Perfect, etc. Whereas Tom tends to exclusively belt in the more upper range (I Miss You). Although Pierre and Tom are capable of both (and do both), they both gravitate more towards opposite sides of the spectrum with their delivery. (Btw if you can get past the catalog that caters to depressed 12 year olds, Simple Plan has a solid list of bangers and albums.)
  8. If we’re comparing “blink’s worst” to Offspring’s best, that should be an indicator of something.
  9. Founding member. Played from 1984 to 2018. Just for some cringey shit dick named “Noodles” to kick him out. Damn lol.
  10. Dammit, What’s My Age Again, Aliens Exist, Story of a Lonely Guy, Feeling This, Wishing Well, etc
  11. When my body is found limp and lifeless on this hill, they’ll see a full head of hair as opposed to shards of tinfoil dispersed everywhere.
  12. As soon as I heard him being referred to as “Noodles” at the show, I said to myself “I don’t have the energy to be a part of this following”.
  13. Same exact perspective here. I saw them in 2010 when they opened for 311, and the only reason I went was to see the Offspring. I thought they were pretty cool then. But at the time, I definitely considered Blink, Sum 41, Green Day to all be in one league and then The Offspring as being a tier below that (like Sublime, as you mentioned). I kept my perspective for years and didn’t think too much into it. But after seeing the Offspring crowd in 2023 and wondering how they somehow pulled like 20,000 people to a show they were headlining (and questioning how on earth Sum 41 and Simple Plan would open for them and not the other way around), I took notice that the crowd was an older bunch. It hit me that growing up, I wrongfully had compared The Offspring (when their prime was done) to bands like Sum 41 and Blink (when their prime was ongoing), and just assumed The Offspring must have been a lesser band. But turns out the primes didn’t overlap and that warped my perspective of them. It seems like they did some good work back in the day and moved the genre forward during their time and gained a large following of older people. Im led to believe Sum 41 and Simple Plan were just paying their respects to an older band that had a large following of older fans, rather than belittling themselves. In 2024 though, I still think The Offspring is pretty lame today.
