  1. hey tang, what you wrote isn't true at all. just so you know what's up, here is how we came to be distributed through CEMA and how it works... we get letters from kids all the time, and kids come up to us when we're on tour and tell us what a difficult time they have had trying to find our album. The stores in their area don't carry it, they tried to special order it, it took forever, whatever. They couldn't get it. So we'd call up Cargo, our label, and tell them that we were bummed. Cargo suggested that we let CEMA distibute the album. They could get it into stores everywhere. However, we had some reservations about giving CEMA that much power. We know that in many areas, chain stores are the ONLY places that kids have to buy music. There are a million small towns that just can't support a locally run mom+pop store. However, we felt the same way that you obviously do about the way that small stores can get dicked over by chains. Also, we knew that CEMA would have a SLIGHTLY higher price point (wholesale price) on the CD's. This meant that the stores that had supported us from the beginning (the small ones) would all of a sudden be paying more for our discs, and would then have to charge more for them, which we didn't want to happen. Yes, we wanted better distribution, but not at the expense of charging kids and stores more for our CD's. So, here is what we worked out. CEMA distributes our CD's to the chain stores. This works because that's how chain stores like to order--in large quantities from a major distributor. Then they split up the orders for each of their stores, store some in warehouses for catalog, and deal with it all internally. The rest of the stores, (mom+pop stores, skate/surf shops, etc) still order directly from Cargo, which works because that is how they order--when they run out of our discs, they order a few more. FOR EXACTLY THE SAME WHOLESALE PRICE AS CARGO HAS ALWAYS CHARGED. This actually gives the mom+pop stores the upper hand as far as pricing goes, so saying that we're screwing the mom+pop stores over is wrong. There is one point that you made which was entirely correct. The kids that buy our CD at chain stores will probably be paying a higher price than if you go down to your local mom+pop store. But we thought it best that in the areas where kids only had chain stores to go to, it would be better to at least have the albums there than not at all. Also, bear this in mind. The CD has been available to anyone for ten bucks postpaid directly from Cargo since the day it came out. So tell me again, how are we ripping kids off?..... love mark --------------------------- this comment is awesome. really explains blinks motive behind getting a major record label. Also shows how reluctant they were to get one, in fear of "selling out". Even though i believe personally they never did
  2. thats what made blink famous - the 13 year old personality
  3. after 15 years tom couldnt have the decency to tell mark himself, that he needed a break. He needed his manager to call mark and let him know. This single act alone is what would have killed mark, and also does it for me. after that act how can anyone back up tom and try and justify his actions. 15 years
  4. fuck that was awesome. thanks for posting bro. the memories and sadness
  5. For all the people who dont blame Tom for the break up, or are sick of people like me who constantly bag him out, then this video should offer a reason why blink fans are so gutted. Straight from Mr. Hoppus' mouth. This quote sums it up: "I don't know what led him to get to that point, but after thirteen years of being in a band together you would think somebody would call themselves. I know it's a difficult call to make, but that's what men do. You have to do things the right way." What men do, cheers Tom. Couldnt even look your best mate (for the last decade and a bit) in the eye. I know people say get over it, but like Mark and Travis, I cant come to terms why he would end it this way. By all means end it if the situation is not right, but to do it this way. 6. thank fuck they are comin to perth. Not like other bands who bail on us. eg Angels and Airwaves. Not that I would have gone to see them anyway.
  7. are you serious? fuck for the fans sake i hope your not serious. blink is these 3 and only these 3. take your lol back you idiot.
  8. He was in shock and denial before. Thats why he kept so quiet after the break up. If Mark or Travis really wanted to kill Toms record they could have had these interviews around the time WDNTW was released, but they aren't like that so they waited. The true Blink fans would never have bought Toms record or supported his tours, if they had known the true events surrounding the breakup, earlier. The only fans Tom has now, are the younger generation of Blink fans. The older generation have seen how he single handly destroyed blink, and like mark and travis will never forgive him. One last word, after 15 years of Mark and Tom. 15 years of friendship, 15 years of business partnership. 15 years of touring and basically being family.after all this Tom couldnt have the decency to ring Mark, never find discuss his problems. Lets not worry about Travis, because he has always had distractions from blink, but For Mark, he has concentrated on blink for the last 15 years and he lost it all in 1 day. That is why he kept quiet for so long. Thats a nice story. Too bad it aint official, so we cant be sure. How is it not official, mark has said it in countless interviews, if you counter this with the possibility that these written interviews could have been edited, then then is the radio interview where he describes with his own voice (no possible editing) the events that occured at the breakup. 2 thirds of blink support this theory, and in this world majority rules. But i also understand if in your mind, you choose to ignore reality and create your own version of it.

  10. "I didnt want the band to seem like it was a marketing tool" Thats exactly what it fucking is, all angels and airwaves has ever been is a way to prop up tom, if the band really meant something to him, he would have had this interview with his whole band, not just himself. Just loves the attention too much. That is the sole reason he quit blink. not this family bullshit. He couldnt handle mark and tom being more famous and talented than him. " I've had more nominations with this band already than I ever did with Blink" This quote is the worst he has ever said, if quiting was crossing the line, i dont know what this is. To claim that AVA is a superior band than the one that put him on the map is outrageous. Not only is this quote untrue, blink may never hav been nominated alot by mtv, woodie and other stupid award shows, but what it did was gain respect from its fans and other bands. To most bands this is all that matters, but not tom, he only seeks attention through the media. R.I.P Tom Delonge. Your career as we know it is dead.

NO way man' date=' i read most of the messages and they are brazilian. ive not seen a single spanish person on the blink 182 community. In case you knew tell me, i wanna see it.[/quote'] its all the same to me. its like japanese and chinese. i sit next to this asian dude in tech and he flipped one day because i called him japanese. for some reason we were talking and i said "i agree, my japanese brother". he started screaming some language (chinese i now assume) and when he finally calmed down and spoke english i could make out "im not a fucking jap, im chinese!". i looked at him for a second and said "what-the-fuck-ever slant eyes".. we both spent the rest of the day in McRoberts office yea fuck yur an idiot, spanish is like the offical language of brazil, so comparing brazilians and the spanish to japanese and chinese is wrong. They are 2 complete different races, who speak completely different languages, where as the brazilians and spanish have a similar language.
  14. its probably the same version as australia. Aliens exist live in L.A was our bonus track.
