  1. Well didn't NOFX accuse blink of having stolen the whole comedy act thing from them? The similarity here probably isn't accidental. Nothing wrong with a 30-second throwback joke song. These have always been hit-or-miss kind of a thing anyway. Hell, the joke songs on TOYPAJ sounded a lot more forced.
  2. Yeah I hadn't even noticed the acoustic there. It begs the question of why put that stuff there in the first place if we can't even hear it... Or maybe it'd sound not as good somehow if it weren't there?
  3. Hah! See, I've had that piano bit of Anthem Pt. 2 clear in my head since the first time I heard the song and I could remember it so vividly, BUT in the years since I started thinking I may have imagined it in the first place because I could never really hear it in the actual song. The best I can think of is that it must've been some sound setting on my old CD player (you know those gimmick buttons that amplify/dampen some frequencies) that made me hear it by accident the first time I heard the song.
  4. Great cover, Miley's voice sounds awesome these days:
  5. Really surprised if he really never used the daphne blue one.
  6. If Tom isn't playing a daphne blue strat here during WMAA? (best view 15 seconds in), then what is it? And it's definitely not just a surf green strat with bad lighting or anything, as Tom switches to his surf green for ATST.
  7. Not much really, and this despite the fact that I've been neglecting the strings on the old surf green one. My amp sucks though, but can't do much about that so long as I live in an apartment building.
  8. Just had to buy a yellow one of the new series, as I'd come to regret it if I didn't (and it's not like the value of these is going to come down). The surf green is from 2005.
  9. I thought Dumb and Dumber To was pretty good.
  10. Lol at Mark & Scott's antics at 10 seconds in:
  11. A bit surprisingly Mark has the strongest songs (Bad News & Other Side) on the album. He also should've sung the first verse of When We Were Young as well, as his tone fits the melody perfectly.
  12. This would be a good song if it had some guitars in it, but now it's more akin to Sober, the poppiest song in blink's catalogue (along with BIOMY).
  13. Fun song, serious lyrics but with a joke or two thrown in, and the guitar "solo" is one of the best in Tom's catalogue. Too bad the production/"remaster" quality is what it is.
  14. Arguably their best song but the guitar tone on this particular version (and the entire "album" for that matter) is garbage. It actually sounds slightly better on the tape/demo version.
  15. Ooh, I must've hit someone where it really hurts! Didn't know we still had such fanatical Tombots here.
  16. Region-specific albums don't really make a lot of sense in the digital era.
  17. Of course production is significant because it's the "sound" of the record.
  18. Yeah that bit is bad as well, hated it immediately.
  19. I Miss You is probably technically an acoustic song but it's a lot more creative instrumentally than OMT. OMT is just a dull, downbeat acoustic song.
  20. It's alright, I've just never been that big of a fan of fully acoustic songs. Good lyrics.
  21. I still have my iPod Touch from more than a decade ago that I still use for any "serious" listening, so I'll be listening to the new record on that. (I've also always preferred headphones/earbuds over speakers because, you know, the sound has "nowhere to hide".)
  22. You think the CD will only be available through their store? Do they bother with CD releases in general anymore?
  23. Why not something that'd actually make sense, like a remastered Dude Ranch with crunchier guitars (like they did with Dammit on the Greatest Hits)?
