  1. You should give it a spin, it's really great. In a year where the 3 gods of pop-punk all have released new albums (Green Day, blink, and Sum), I'm shocked that it's Green Day that released the weakest album, by a pretty wide margin at that. I mean I guess that's par for the course with them, with just about everything they've put out since after American Idiot, but it's still just such a bummer that blink and Sum can still go through years of turmoil and come out the other end with a very satisfying new album, yet Green Day really just seems to struggle with it. I digress, this thread isn't about Green Day, but when I think about Sum 41, blink-182, or Green Day, the other 2 rival bands are always right there at the back of my mind.
  2. My vote is On Some Emo Shit. I love that song.
  3. Just wanted to say, that South America, you've spoiled all blink fans with your consistency with pro-live recordings of blink concerts. We don't typically get full live shows in a pro recorded quality from blink, and if we do, it will be 1, maybe 2 per full tour at the most. I suppose inevitably this is going to increase over time, especially when it comes to the festivals. They played 6 shows in South America, 5 of which were pro recorded (only Peru seems to not have been), and 1 of them had recording issues for a sizable portion of it, but still that leaves us with 4 full concerts that sound fantastic, including Brazil which genuinely does have some of the best energy I've seen all around at blink show, both by the band and the fans. So, seriously, thank whoever the powers that be in South America for having such huge awesome festivals for blink to come to all at the same time and leave all us fans with some wonderful recordings that we can revisit for years and years to come (I've already watched the Brazil show twice lol).
  4. With blink I have many times, they're so fun and to end on Dammit after only 90 minutes has never been a satisfying end to a blink concert to me at all, I'm left needing to hear like 5 more songs haha.
  5. Exactly. If they played a 2+ hour set all the time then I can understand ending with a high energy song, but if you're still gonna stick to 90 minutes, leaving people restless just has never sat right with me.
  6. I gotta say, I overall love the current set, I just wish they'd add a few more songs, would love to see Dick Lips, put back in Dysentery Gary, Not Now, and Disaster. I don't think I'd have much left to complain about set-wise with the likes of those songs added in (though, if they wanted to add an earlier all acoustic encore like they were doing back in 2012-2013, I would happily welcome that back as well).
  7. Honestly I'm just happy it's no longer the closer. Like I get it, that song is what seriously opened doors for them and led to Enema and all the major success because of it, but the energy has always been all wrong for ending a show. That song leaves you pumped, but there is never anything left to be pumped for except for maybe a quick joke song. A song like One a More Time just has the perfect kind of vibe for ending a show, though I always felt STFTK could make for a brilliant closer as well.
  8. If they don't play Carousel, then they should play Wasting Time, which I'd argue is almost as important to the band's legacy from that era and ultimately I'd say is the better song, but I very much love them both.
  9. Indeed, I'm not sure blink could ever have done a better job of living up to the decades of demands to "Come to Brazil." I'm sure for many blink fans in South America, the year delay turned out to absolutely be worth it.
  10. First post has 2 others from earlier in the week. There is an Argentina one out there as well, but that one had recording issues and you'd have to skip at least like the first half hour before it's fixed. Regardless I don't have or see that recording being shared in full online.
  11. Cool beans. Personally I'm loving these new pro shot recordings. Tom specifically is sounding better live than he has on decades, ands that has nothing to do with the backing tracks.
  12. At least like half the show was recorded incorrectly. Lots of dropouts. However, the second half or so was done right and sounds great which is actually perfect (relatively), I believe all the new songs and Bored To Death were recorded without issue. Wendy Clear unfortunately I believe was too early and had some issues if it were recorded.
  13. Seems the recording issue has been fixed by now. Which is great because we're getting a high quality Tom recording of Bored to Death right now and they all sound fantastic on it.
  14. Yeah, seems like even if you get a working stream, that it's going in and out like crazy, think it's fundamentally being recorded wrong, and it suuuuuuucks. Fortunately I believe their next show is live streamed as well.
  15. I'm been using https://tv-libre.com/en-vivo/flow-music/ with Argentina as my country in a free VPN chrome extension and its doing the trick. Can't wait 15 more minutes lol, gonna be great to get some high quality live recordings of the new songs!
  16. Updated link: https://www.twitch.tv/lollachilecl
  17. Here's the full Chile concert: Live in Asuncionico: Lollapalooza Brazil (youtube video only at 360p (at the time of me posting this), watch in HD here: https://archive.org/details/blink-182-lollapalooza-brasil-2024 Festival Estéreo Picnic 2024 - Colombia Argentina had a ton of errors at first, but gets better a bit into the set. Consequently I'm not finding full video of it, and even if I did, I would probably advise against watching the whole thing anyway, maybe if ya started about 30 minutes in or so would it be alright.
  18. This is something else I wanted to address. I'm not sure that there is a better One-Two opening punch for a blink album than the first 2 songs on One More Time. I mean Feeling This and Obvious is up there, but Anthem pt 3 and Dance With Me? Are you kidding me?! Lol
  19. Just wanted to say that this song is still the shit. Probably my favorite on the album, and easily ranks among my favorite blink songs ever. Tom coming back would be worth it for this one song alone. K, I'm gonna go listen to if yet again.
  20. 68 is way too young in this day and age. RIP to the man, I wouldn't be who I am without Dragon Ball or Chrono Trigger.
  21. Overall I really like that guy's blink mashups, he has a lot of them. But this one is weak. He's trying to force the theme into a remix that really doesn't quite work right together. Though I really do appreciate his effort all the same.
  22. Cool news all around: So the song One More Time lasted 20 weeks at number 1 on the Alternative Airplay charts. Which ties Portugal the Man for most weeks in a row at that spot on this charts. Sum 41's Landmines now takes over (what year is this? Lol) and honestly, love that song, surprised it's taken over now after being out for so many weeks, but I'm not complaining, it's a solid song to step up. Also curious about all of this is how Green Day is in the mix with their latest album but haven't managed to take a number 1 spot yet, and Sum 41's full new album isn't even out yet. Feels pretty representative of where these bands stand today, where once Green Day were considered by many to be the top pop punk band, I think most today would say that both blink and Sum 41 are more enjoyable than what Green Day is doing anymore. Frankly I wish Sum 41 were sticking around after the new album and it were Green Day that were calling it quits instead.
  23. Yeah it's alright, listened to it two times through fully, but I'm already bored with most of it. I do enjoy Dillema, 1981, and Bobby Sox. But those are the only ones I really go back to at this point.
  24. Yeah the album loses major points on originality. The shameless recycling of the tune to Pink's So What in One Eyed Bastard is totally inexcusable. I don't even care for Pink, but I was well aware of that tune because it was a pretty big hit at the time. Does Green Day credit her or do they just shamelessly steal that tune? Because its pretty egregious.
  25. Ya know what? It's honestly not half-bad. But here's what I'm going to say upfront after one listen: I think I'm going to like this album in the same way that I like Underclass Hero by Sum 41. I think this release is overall a pretty fun listen from start to finish, however it feels like a lot of retreading of earlier ideas the band has explored with even some blatant imitations of other great rock songs from completely different artists. It will be an album that I apologetically enjoy, one that I know shouldn't be respected, but is still so fun from start to finish that I just don't care. I can see myself on long road trips putting this thing on and being pleased. I did see that review that said it's their best album since American Idiot, and ya know what, I think that's true. It isn't saying a whole lot, but this is easily going to be the Green Day album I'll play again before Father of All, Revolution Radio, the Trilogy, or 21 Century Breakdown. I'd give it a 6/10.
