  2. hmmmm maybe, personally i find it more simple plan esque
  3. i dont think its possible for tom to actually sing well
  4. ok i dont post much but i was bored and couldnt sleep so did a review, having some trouble with my girlfriend so this will take my mind off it. 1. Valkyrie missile. well its a good opening to the album in my opinion it serves well by slapping you into the whole epic feel of the album i think the long intro is well a little long but it works i like how it gradually builds on the energy and then comes in with the verse its very well thought out. the choruses area highlight for me i dunno i just like the simplicity of iti like this song the lyrics leave alot to be desired. 2. distraction this is a nice song a nice idea and it works partly but seriously how does someone of 12 years experiance come up with a lyric like "the planes came in , thier bombs did too" ? thats just poor by anyones standard. the song itself is very repetitive and i find myself wanting to skip the track. 3. it hurts this song is fair i especially like the bridge its really good and has a mystifying quality to it and some of the lyrics are better thought out than the previous track but fucking hell ive never heard such a bad pre chorus allso i feel in alot of songs on this album tom didnt really take time to think about what he is singing. the thing that really makes the songs a bit average is the melody in which he decides to sing them in and this song is sadly subject to that fault. the verses are embarassing. 4. do it for me now for me definately a standout track tom did achieve what he was after in this track the song sounds huge and the melody in the verses is great and the song has a great rythem. the lyrics in this are actually surprisingly impressive. apart from the bit after the chorus "down" anyone? 5. the adventure i dont relaly have much to say other than this songg is argueably the best song on the album its lyrics and guitar sections are very inspireing and really do put you into a positive feeling. however i do feel it goes on for too long such as the bridge but then again if it was any shorter the song wouldnt work. 6. the war brilliant song i love the energy especially in the chorus it makes you feel agressive and ready to tackle anything. i would like to say the song might as well be a blink song but it isnt it really has elements blink wouldnt include such as the chorus just isnt a blink chorus its just more agressive. i struggle to see what the song is about but i think its something to do with going for what you want and achieving your goals but there are mixed messages throughout the whole song its strange. 7. a littles enough strange intro for a song on a rock album whenever i hear it i think ghetto gospel by tupac then the guitar comes in and it kicks into a deep song i think its got great presence. its a very progressive song two verses without a chorus. the real jumpp out factor for this song is the thunderous drums laid down by atom williard just set the tone for the song. the sort of rolls through. the bridge is sub average it really doesnt need to be there it just separates two choruses after the initial impact of the choruses they are overused and leaving u bored. 8. the gift i like this song simply becuase of the odd drum structure when the verses break into the pre chorus it just makes you bop your head with the first apparant diversity in the bass playing of ryan sinn. apart from that the song is kind of boring and at this point in the album you pretty much know what is going to happen enext in a song. usually some sort of pre chorus riveting into either a loud outstretched chorus or a word repeated over and over. have to say tho loving the bridges with all the "oh oh oh oh" bits in them ala "the war" and this song. 9. good day what a shit song, it just doesnt belong on the album. if the chorus didnt have such dire lyrics it might have been better but the structure is obviously studio bodging- (lets make a song but not actually know how were goign to structure it and make it up as we go) 10. start the machine actually i think this song is great i love the piano in the beginning and the heavy bass line. the lyrics are great as well the proper piece of old toms magic. if more songs on the album followed the same prncible of this song i think the album would have been better. frankly the problem with the album is ambition, tom was trying to create something he is not, at least not by trying this hard (think that makes sence) tom was in a punk rock band who was progressing towards a much more natural epic sound untitled was proof. tom skipped a few pages and jumped ahead with this album. he should have waited 6 months longer and found something more natural. so yeah i liked the album i enjoy the songs and some of them do send me away to a different place but this aint changing the world. 7/10
  5. i dont post much usually just read but that asthenia dude is well..................a prick
  6. the only real way to get out there is to pester people and have solid links with the industry. you need to catch a winning gig say with a band that you like one thats relatively big. allso an rather untapped way in is to enter big competitions, my band entered a big competition in our city "croydon" and now we are bombarded with demo requests and gigs. get in touch with radio stations allso just send your demo out everywhere and anywhere. collect a list of clubs and send your demo off to them. just persist thats how my bands landed a support with the maple state and might six ninety.
  7. pleas ego listen to my band after fucking ages of nothing we finally have something recorded if you come check it out i will olove you forever mwah www.myspace.com/billydontbeaherouk thanks xxx
  8. this guy says it how it is i like him
  9. thats a fair point, i dotn agree, but i can see where your coming from. maybe the song has more of a meaning than that, i mean tom delonge could have somehting deep going on in his life right now, with the break up of blink allmost the loss of 2 of his best friends. and from what we know his marrige was going through some tough times. i dont think this song really is about his "friend" its probably about him.
  10. thats definately a great song, u can still see the blink in this song. i love thier crosendos that thier doing with the choruses
  11. the guy fighting his arguement about solos is a complete twat and simply from what he said before in this post knows absolutely fuck all himself about music. SINCE when does a solo make a live act all of a sudden better, fuck them unless your going to doa short one or do something different with it, what is seriously the point of showing off how fast you can play your scales. sure go back to bob marleys day when he was making sweet melody solos with his unique reggea style it sounded sweet. but year after year after year a band comes out with a "sick" guitarist playing incredibly fast...............TO BORE US ALL THE FUCK TO DEATH. sorry there is no lie, im an accomplished guitarist and i can put my hand on my heart and say id rather make a simple but unique chord structure ofr riff up than playing some shitty scale as fast as my fingers can to make up for lack of real musical talent ( not to be confused with technical talent). theres no place for solos in angels and airwaves music niether was there in blink. why? because tom wants to move music forwards plain and simple. there snothing unique theres nothing great about someone twidlling thier fingers over and over, its been done by millions enough allready come back when its dead.
  12. true, most people actually probably like it because it is infact a great piece of music, did u stop to think that?
  13. people will obviously slate this. those people are nieve. they will say its crap its the same as blink. the lyrics mean nothig the song sounds fake. when the actual fact of the matter is, it isnt this is the best thing to come out of music for a long time i was waiting for the day a band actually meant something, where thier music touched me. hundreds of emo bands, hardcore bands, indie bands will come and pass making great pop songs. only a few rock bands will come along and make something truely worth something. this my friends in my opinion is on of them.
  14. well seriously u sit back listen to this and think how the fuck bands like the libertines are considered amazing when all pete doherty has done is ruin his life with a herion problem and wrote shit songs about it. and please dont get me started on the arctic monkeys, compare any of the arctic monkeys songs to this its a just a joke comparison angels and airwaves shits on everything ive heard in the past two years EXCEPT motion hehe i love motion
  15. this is the revolution i hoped for thank the gods
  16. story of the year? sum 41? rise against? fuck off mate, you wouldnt know good music if it bit u in the ass.
  17. that was undenyably shit
  18. its good in the most part, the singer is pretty decent u need a much better drummer, he lets you down
  19. i like most of it, the only thing is the playing itself needs tightening up and the chorus is fine and nice and all but unfortunately its very typical. allso learn to play to a click/metronome
  20. put down your microphones and guitars, the dream will never come true for you.
  21. hes got something awesome going there, if he can get a good proper band then he will rock
  22. sorry this mike is only for direct pc input, which is the worst type of input, but go for it it looks convieniant.
  23. it sucks your band is gaty and your gay fuck off!
