Oliver, I would go so far as to say that 99% of "rich" people are pretty much scum. I would say Tom is not. Tom brings joy to people. It sounds gay to say, but he does. He doesn't take advantage of them, he provides a service. At the time being, he provides a pretty sweet and totally new service.

Lets say Tom makes 1,000,000 a year - just an example. What should he be allowed to keep? Should he donate 950k just because he can live reasonably off 50k? Where does that 950K go?

Tom does take advantage of people though. He charges people to meet him and refuses to meet with anyone who didn't pay him. It's money he doesn't need.

If it were me, I would donate it all once I made enough to live modestly. Not saying Tom has to do that, but there is no point in charging people to view stuff on his band. It's insulting.

Let me ask you: If you were a millionaire and you had tons and tons of money that was given to you by your fans who adore you, would you charge them more to view stuff about your band?

Fair enough. I still don't think he needs to charge for the stuff though. With the meet and greets the demand would increase, but you could put a limit, and once it filled that would be it. That way it would be first come first serve and fans who didn't have the $20 could meet him as well. I am sure money goes to other things. But the starting costs were laid out up front. The more people they can entice to join, the more they make in profit.

Again, very fair. Perhaps Tom is portrayed incorrectly in the media. But from I have seen from him is that he falls into the greedy category with the rest of the rich. He didn't have to accept money to wear certain clothes, he didn't have to make 3 signature guitars, he didn't have to charge for his site, Blink didn't have to demand $250,000 per show, and he still would have made millions. I don't understand how that is not greed.

I give $100 per year to Hospice in my grandmothers name. I have done so for the past 3 years.

I also donate all my used clothes to an organization that uses them for people in Africa.
