Can’t comment on the quality of Gotoh but I had a Spurzel lock up on me when a string broke and the pin wouldn’t release. I called the company at like 8pm and Bob Spurzel picked up, apparently he was working late in the shop, and he sent me a replacement tuner free of charge. That experience sold me on his company to the point I’ll evangelize for them any chance I get.

Can confirm.

They were awesome to deal with when I purchased Sperzel tuners for my surf green build.

They seem like a small shop too, but yes they are awesome.

Hey, gear guys, should the bridge on my strat be flush with the body or is it okay to leave it floating a bit? I took off the whammy and it's just a matter of tightening springs. The problem is, if I tighten them to get the bridge flush then the low e buzzes ... I do kind of like the bridge raised a bit because I can manually push on in to mess with the sound, so it's cool for the effect but I don't know if I'm damaging the guitar by leaving it like this.

The bridge is supposed to float a bit on a strat so you can use the tremolo, so it's totally fine to leave it that way if you like it.

I've decked the bridges on both of my strats because I don't use trem at all and I found I'd always throw the tuning off when palm muting.

I’m a drummer so I keep my guitar rig simple lol. Schecter C-1 Platinum and a VOX Valvetronix vt20x with foot pedal. The guitar was a great deal for $600, and I swear this is the best practice amp you can get. Has so many amp models on it and they all sound great. You can save your preferences included amp models, distortion, tone, and all kind of effects. Here’s a list of all the amp models it mimics:

Been eyeing this Schecter J-4, absolutely in love with it.

I don’t know about basses, but Schecter makes some damn good guitars, you really can’t beat the high value with great prices they provide. I’m sure basses are the same way with them.

I can’t freaking wait until my luthier can get my guitar in to get this neck on it and replace the ugly ass Pau Ferro fingerboard that’s currently on it. Also have a black Gotoh bridge, black input jack, black volume knob, black string tree,  and black Sperzel locking tuners that will be going on this bad boy. Gonna be so damn sexy

I think I'm gonna go buy a bass on Saturday. Also, it took some time but I have finally gotten used to playing with Tortex 1.0 picks and I'm wondering why I didn't make the jump sooner.

Fucking finally. Playing electric with .71 picks is mental.

.60 ... I swore by them because that's what Tom used when I saw them on the pop disaster tour. I caught one of his picks. That night I went home and started learning to play. He's also probably the reason I suck dick at guitar. Almost 20 years of playing and I don't even know scales.
