Scott.
I’m still trying to get the hang of it. There’s a knack to it and I haven’t worked it out yet. @Rouxhave you seen any of the pre season games pal? Bruno, Sancho and Martial are looking sharp and Savage and Iqbal have looked really good when they’ve played. Both of them are better than mctominay 😂 Good to get the deals for Eriksen and Martinez done. With the sale of Periera that’s only 50 odd million net spend. Still not happy though with the De Jong and Ronaldo situation. We need to get Ronaldo sorted quickly so we can add a forward if he does move on and same with De Jong, it’ll drag on onto the start of the season and we’ll probably be scrambling around for replacements from the bargain bin on deadline day knowing our useless cunts. What you think of that triple bid from West Ham? I think Broja will be a good signing and you’re desperate for another striker.

I'm undecided on Broja, he started like a monster for Southampton last season but seemed to fade a bit as the season went on. Hoping playing for a better team with better players will mean he gets more service though and we def need more strikers as we can't go another season with Antonio as the only striker. I'd never heard of Scamacca but had a good season last year and is 6ft 5 so offers us something different, especially as we're pretty shit hot with set pieces. Also know little about Onana but more midfield cover and a 20 year old who has just broken into the Belgium squad sounds good to me, fact we could now have Downes and him as well as Rice/Soucek which means both of them do not need to be run into the ground like they were last season. In all honesty Scott, do you think you are better off without Ronaldo this season? I know it's only preseason but you're playing some decent stuff and getting good results with lots of players chipping in with goals in a more dynamic and younger frontline. Everything points to him needing to leave as it would be better for everyone....although I did something about the owners wanting him to stay for commercial reasons, could be bollocks but that's outrageous if true. Plus it looks like it's going to be difficult to find a club to take him. Also surely you need to draw the line with FDJ soon, something just isn't right with that deal. Do you think he wants to come?

Yeah been watching them all during work - they all look sharp, Ten Hag has had an impact for sure. Savage and Baily have been the standout players for me. Even if Ronaldo goes or stays, they still need a top striker. If De Jong doesn't happen then i think they'll go for Ruben Neves. I read from a few reliable journos that he wants to stay and get his money and some say he's happy to go but wants his money. Either way Barca have fucked him over. Martinez looks a very technical adaptive player - going to have lots of energy with him and Fred. Really interested to see how Maguire fits into this high passing, quick, possession based football - he has none of these traits. Martinez surely has to play for the fee they paid for him and Varane if he can stay fit is world class.
Scott.
Honestly I think if Ronaldo stays he’ll be top scorer next season. He wasn’t far off last year in the worst united side in my lifetime. Martial has looked sharp though. I dunno it’s a tough one. I’m just shocked Ronnie has said he wants to leave without knowing a club was going to come in for him because looks like nobody wants him and he’s gonna have to come back to united with the tail between his legs and maybe Ten Hag will start with Martial now. The De Jong situation is confusing, I don’t know what to believe, he obviously wants his owed money so if he comes out and says he wants out it probably makes it difficult to get it where as if he says he’s not going Barca may cough it up knowing they need to get rid of him for financial reasons. Look we’re a ducking disaster of a football club but there’s no chance united would be working 10 weeks on a deal if they knew the player was 100% staying surely to god. Ten Hag is in constant contact with Frenkie apparently. Let’s see, one thing I know is that this will drag on well into august which isn’t ideal

Both centre forwards unless Moyes wants to play with two upfront Antonio well and truly run out of steam last season, he is also 32 and his hamstrings are made of cheese strings. I think this might be the start of him being phased out if I'm honest and him being used as an impact sub. We need more striking options for sure and bringing in 2 younger players ticks boxes with me. Our record with big money signings when it comes to strikers is absolutely shocking though so I do have my doubts. In fact in recent memory our only decent two strikers have been converted wingers (Antonio & Arnautovic) Either way, really happy we're adding some depth to our squad - we had a really good first 11 last year but the lack of depth and trying to compete for Europe & League cost us in the end as players tired/got injured and the players coming in to replace them were a pretty big drop off quality wise, seems like Moyes has also realised this too. Last season was diabolical. If we want to have any hope of top 4 - we are banking on Rashford, Martial and Sancho having their best season - this doesn't really fill me with confidence. Some deals are complex - so going to give them benefit of the doubt as long as they have backup plans encase they fall through. Still need 3 more signings imo. I'd be very happy with a 4-5-1 (4-3-3) and just pack the midfield with ball keepers like Erikson, Martinez possibly de Jong and stick Ronaldo up front. Low Value Boy
Looks like Lingard is close to coming back. Broja is very close, long with another 2-3 looking like they might come in. I've had bad things to say about our owners before but they are def backing Moyes this summer.
Low Value Boy
Man United lads, just seen some of the play/goals from your most recent friendly - looks like you're playing some great stuff. Forward players interchanging and running past each other - seems like the weight has been lifted off a lot of them. Think playing that way suits you a lot more than having that single focal point up front.
Scott.
Yeah that was a really good performance from the lads against a shite palace side. Can defo see improvements already. Villa will be a harder test on Sat
Roux
I don't see much difference other than they are pressing more and look fitter. Ten Hag has just got them working well as unit, even the players have said they actually know what they are doing now. Front 3 look really good in these friendlies though - will have to see how it goes in the league.

No we’re taking less touches with the ball, have willing runners, playing on the defenders shoulders and attacking in numbers. Fullbacks have been coming into midfield too and playing with a higher line. It’s only pre season though and early days but I can see a big improvement already

High line, pressing and one touch football with speed. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/11589528/manchester-united-thrash-cardiff-in-ole-gunnar-solskjaers-first-game Hard thing is getting the team to do that over an entire season. The main difference for me is they all look much fitter - Rashford and Sancho in particular.
Scott.
Yeah and they’ve all said how much fitter they feel. Just a shame we haven’t got Eriksen and Martinez on tour, may take them a bit of time to catch up

Disappointed of course but he was holding us to ransom and isn't worth £200k a week. Our offer of around £140-150k a week was more than fair, if Forest want to pay him that then more fool them...doesn't seem either Lingard or Forest are banking on staying up considering its a one year deal.
