If you've been following the blink b-sides topic, you'll know where this is coming from, the question is, the cover of Dead Man's Curve that Mark and Tom performed.  Is it a blink song or not?  The only reason it wouldn't be would be because Travis or Scott didn't drum on the song, yet this hardly seems important for the song, for all we know, their drummer wasn't available at the time, (probably towards the end of Scott's time with the band where he wasn't showing up for gigs and what not) Is it a blink song?  Hint: it is.

dude if you cant tell its not them, you dont really have a knack for understanding music.  I play guitar and drums quite fluently, and I can tell by the style of people whether it is them or not on the track.  Im sure any one here with a good ear could hear that song and tell you it is not them.  Why dont you buy the fucking CD and look into the credits for the song in the booklet, I guarantee youll be proved wrong.

OH! because you say its not them, it must not be them! What do I know?  Dude i don't need to buy the cd, but it seems like you might need to, because these guys do have a style, but they've proved time and time again that they can stray from their obvious style that they've made their own with other styles, and this song sounds just like one of those types of songs.  If you listen to a Buddha track and then a self title track and know nothing about the band, I doubt you'd come to the conclusion that its the same guitarist and bassist if you base it on those sounds alone (not the vocals)

I actually brought that up in the b-sides topic.  I'd say its more of a blink song than anything else.  You can hide behind labels all you want, but in reality we know what the song is.  Who else remembers in 2002 thinking, "this is pretty much a blink song"? I sure do, hell to this day, I consider it more of a blink song than a BCR song, though i also consider And I almost a blink song as it just as easily could have appeared on a blink album.  The question then arrises as to wheter What Went Wrong or The Fallen Interlude are really blink songs as they're just Tom and Travis respectively.  And Don't Leave Me acoustic is just Mark, but I certainly consider it a blink song, not a Mark Hoppus song.  But I guess it all comes down to how you feel about the songs.

Personally, these songs with only input by one or two of the members are blink songs as they clearly sound like blink songs.

And I guess the question will also arrise, Travis said a blink-182 song will appear on his solo album, but will you call it a blink song a or a Travis Barker song because it appeared on his solo album?  I'm going to consider it a blink-182 song, as I'm sure many of you will, but this balloonknot guy will not under his logic.

I agree, whether or not its technically labeled as a blink-182 track, its clearly a blink-182 cover, but this guy for whatever reason is pissed off at the thought that this is true.  I don't understand why though, I love this cover, its funny in the begining (dammit Dean!  What leave me alone! lol)  and it sounds like a blink song, even if its under just Mark and Tom, and even if they didn't perform the guitar and bass (though I've seen no evidence to suggest this, just a couple of claims).
