Both his brother and mine were killed, and so I told him what an awesome CD Brother's Blood was and thanked him for writing songs that deal with the true shit in life. He gave me a signed copy and even dedicated Cotton Crush to me when he performed, haha. Best show I've ever been too. That's awesome, not that your brother was killed, but that he dedicated Cotton Crush to you. Thanks! Ya that's one of the highlights of my life. Not alot of people have heard of him, but he is a huge favorite of mine so that was really cool. He's mates with Jesse Lacey if I'm not mistaken? Anyone met him? Tim Kasher (Cursive, The Good Life, Commander Venus): Seemed normal and generally cool. Signed my set-list. John Ralston: Really nice, appreciative to talk. A short man. Nate Ruess (The Format, fun.) Awesome guy. Had a great energy about him. This was before Aim and Ignite came out and talked about what he's doing with that. Nice guy. Dan Hunter (Analog Rebellion/PlayRadioPlay!): Kind of standoffish. Met him on three seperate occasions and never remembered me. Seemed really shy Andy Hull (Manchester Orchestra, Bad Books, Right Away! Great Captain): Nice and genuine. Told me how they chose the artwork for I'm Like A Virgin Losing A Child Chris Conley (Saves The Day, Two Tongues) Really nice. Seemed really stoked to talk to me. John Nolan (Taking Back Sunday, Straylight Run) Short guy, really nice too. Craig Owens (ex-Chiodos, Cinematic Sunrise, D.R.U.G.S.): Seemed to be pretty nice. Didn't really have much to talk about, but had nice eyes. Joseph Marro (The Early November, Hellogoodbye): Was polite, but kind of seemed like he hated being at the show. It was TEN's farewell tour and he seemed eager to leave. I think he didn't like being in TEN at that point. Darren Hanlon: Extremely nice guy. He's from Australia and is pretty good. Justin Pierre (Motion City Soundtrack, Farewell Continental): Met him twice. The first time he didn't speak and only nodded and bowed. He was resting his voice, but the second time he was really happy and talked a lot. Those are the only ones where I talked to them. Mostly about music or how touring is. Awardude Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Coolest would have to be Travis Barker & John Mayer. I've met Travis 3 times. Once at an autograph thing and then 2x out in real life. John Mayer I met in New York at the Spring Lounge bar in Greenwich Village on halloween of 2010. He was in a full on Star Wars Storm Trooper outfit. He walks into the bar, takes off the helmet and gets a Corona w/Lime. My friend and I go over to say hi and he asks us to sit down. We end up talking to him for about 15 minutes about music, girls, LA/NY and a few minutes were spent on him talking about himself... If I were as talented as him, i'd do the exact same though. I'd have to say he was a bit cooler than Travis Barker just because of how down to earth he was. Biggest douche award goes to Tom DeLonge. I have yet to meet Mark, but i've met his wife twice at some shows. Edit* - I know they're not musicians, but I just got back from New York again last week and this time ended up meeting Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen at Puck Fair bar also down in the Greenwich Village area. . . I have yet to go to New York and not meet a Celebrity. My sister met Travis Barker, Aziz Ansari, and Marc Jacobs as well on her first trip their in August 2010. Maybe we just get lucky? No idea. . . Awardude Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 What did Tom do? He acted "too cool for school". This was when he was my favorite in the band as well. It was at a Box Car Racer signing right before a show at The Wiltern in LA. Didn't want his picture taken. Every other guy in the band was more than happy to do so. His ego was just too much. Was closed off as well. I'm sure he's changed a bit now though. Maybe he was on his pain pills then... I don't know. Still stands out to be the biggest douche of a musician or "celeb" i've ever encountered. Quote
