theedge00 Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 What's your interpretation of the song/lyrics? Quote
MassKirbycide Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 It's another one of blink's songs about growing up. Except now instead of a specific topic like a breakup or going to college, it's just about how worn down we get facing life's challenges day in and day out. It doesn't even feel like we're living anymore, we're just struggling through a bitter game. And even though we work our asses off to try and enjoy our lives, the reality is that we all grow old and die. It's a chilling thought, and all these thoughts and realizations swirl through our minds and keep us up all night, lost in thought and not knowing what the hell we're here for. That's my take, anyway. Just like Dammit, blink's comeback single is about what it feels like to grow up. Quote
InkedRichie Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 What's your interpretation of the song/lyrics? I interpret 'and all these demons they keep me up all night' as the bands various problems from the past 6 or so years, Tom's painkiller addiction, Travis's plane crash and post traumatic stress, Mark dealing with his band imploding and how it kept them up at night? And 'let's get this straight do you want me here'......Tom back in Blink with Mark & Travis ? 'as I struggle through each and every year'...... Toms addiction again, Travis haunted by the crash? That's just what always comes to mind whenever I listen to it Quote
Scott. Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 It's just about everyone struggling through life and the problems going over in their head and keeping them up all night. I always think loads of shit when I'm lying in bed and can never get to sleep. Quote

radikal Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 It is a really solid song, I like how it is a three part song in a way, its almost like everyone brought something from the 8 year absence, it has a few parts that sound like a rap song the way the guitars sound etc... and other parts that sound like AVA and some others that sound like +44 or indie music... its just like they really collaborated Quote
