I also love Al Pacino who looked great based off the trailers. I thought Once Upon A Time and Joker were good but not as great as they're hyped and Tarantino is my favorite filmmaker probably. I finally saw Once Upon a Time, I enjoyed it but it wasn't super linear. It kind of had no real plot but it was alright. I didn't find that chick getting her face caved in all that graphic. It was kind of over the top and funny in a way only Tarantino could pull off. It was still a fun watch though, even if pointless but definitely not as good as Hateful 8.

Most Tarantino movies have me shook up with the crazy storyline, Hollywood had like none, was just slow meandering around with some cool scenes. How do you have Leo and Brad Pitt and not do a great story? I wasn't opposed to the violence it's more just the fireplace section that got me, and the sound effects, fuck, and I normally can handle a lot.

Cheerios4u98
Saw Knives Out today and loved it. Only saw it because the movie my group was planning on seeing was sold out and we still wanted to watch something. Kind of like a modern day Clue but different enough to stay interesting the entire time. Def recommended.

Don't expect another Goodfellas or Casino, it's been stated several times that this is a completely different type of crime film but I think it is one of the best stories put to film in years. Al Pacino and Pesci were phenomenal, De Niro was great as well and everyone else is as good as you'd expect. Truly seamless the 3.5 hour runtime is heavily felt but totally worth it. I might have to watch it again soon though. For now it's a 10/10. 3.5 hours?? Fuck that. Who’s got time for that?

Scott.
Just caught the last half of Cast Away. Man what an underrated film. It’s fucking fantastic. Tom Hanks is brilliant and Helen Hunt looks great.
heater
Just watched American Son last night & sobbed myself to sleep afterwards. Ughhhhh, idk why I did that to myself, I knew exactly what it was going to be about. Kerry Washington was amazing as always, but it was utterly heartbreaking & will ruin your whole mood. Jan Backing Track
Just finished El Camino, not gonna lie I was thinking about halfway through "oh shit, this is an utter bomb, huge disservice" but it pulled together at the end (won't spoil anything). It was just fan service and not supposed to be some epic Breaking Bad episode. The old cast members with flashbacks was a huge risk though, Skinny Pete, Badger, and Robert Forester's characters were great, but Jesse himself looked noticeably older and Plemon's character (Todd) was the absolute worst, putting on about 35 lbs and looking way older? Would have wrote him out as it made all the flashback scenes pretty bad, but I probably wouldn't care as much if I didn't JUST finish Breaking Bad's finale. I preferred no El Camino and just leaving it up to imagination after Jesse drives off in BrBa (perfect show btw) ....Until the last 20 minutes. That was some good stuff and was cool to see him get to Alaska (not really a spoiler) oh plus the diner 🥰🥰🥰. The rest was pretty messy. Why not just steal 1,800 from his parents? I'm sure they had it? Next up: Knives Out or Irishman

The flashbacks, the camera angles and way it was shot, the music, etc. all felt exactly like the show. I agree about the fan service part, but that's probably because the scope would have been too small (just about Jesse) which would have really pissed people off even more. If Breaking Bad the show was considered a 9/10 for me, El Camino would be an 8/10 in comparison. I loved the scene of Jesse tearing apart the apartment and that top-down angle shot, as well as when the 'cops' show up to the scene. If Breaking Bad was an 11/10 I'd give El Camino a 6/10. 8/10 for the ending though. Biggest problem I think was that I just finished the series a few days prior, so the 6 years aging on all the characters on what's suppose to be a milisecond later in the story didn't bode well, it was super distracting.
