heater
We just recently got Rubber Bandits for the Switch & I laughed until I cried while we played last night. Work together to steal things, beat each other up for the loot before getting through the finish….so much fun, hilarious. Highly recommend.

I'm a Tiger stan, but I play these games in career mode so playing as him isn't a draw. I can just play as Nelly Korda on EA and spring wood after every tee shot On 3/2/2023 at 12:04 AM, Cheerios4u98 said: I miss the GameCube Mario Golf The Switch one didn’t really do it for me Really? Worst poster here
golf seems like it would really lend itself to an amazing virtual reality game. I’m sure one exists, but the new PSVR2 would be a cool opportunity to see one
Radioactive Ghent
For someone who doesn't play real golf a VR experience would be fun. But for people who play I think it would be disappointing since things like Trackman exist. It would feel fake to me as I know how insanely hard golf is even playing virtually on Trackman. Is Trackman just your basic virtual golf where you hit a real ball into a net and then see it on the big screen? I think the advantage to VR is you could play it at home. With the haptic feedback, you’d get the sensation of actually making contact with the ball. But I agree, it wouldn’t be as good.

Golf Simulators have really been on the rise past couple years, but I've never enjoyed them much outside the social gathering aspect of grabbing a few drinks and hitting at the screen. The actual feel of those isn't great to me though, does nothing to make you a better golfer and really not too seamless & expensive. People love 2K to hate on EA, but 2K has the worst animation-based gameplay that defeats the purpose of playing games at its core. It LOOKS nice and is fun the first few go throughs, but gets insanely boring because you essentially are just running scripts and animations vs actual control/competing with your controller.. It's like that for all their games. + a curve bar thing. On 3/1/2023 at 10:15 PM, Coightstanza said: They’re good. Hard though. Like in attempts to be more realistic they become a little tedious. Yeah, that's what ruined golf games for me. The over-realisticness makes it become a bit of a bore - might as well step outside at that point. Lot of sports games have gotten like this if not all. Beethoven
Picked up Spiderman ps4. Looks pretty incredible and ps2 nostalgia just free roaming around town. Not sure how I missed this game, looks like it had a lot of hype.
Cheerios4u98
Started Final Fantasy 13 and… I’m in shock that they made a mainline Final Fantasy game this boring. I actually can’t believe how much of a downgrade this is from everything that came before. I heard the jokes about it before I started, but they weren’t wrong. 10 hours into the game and all I’ve done is walk down extremely long hallways that look the same for the entire game. Ooof. This is rough.
Speedo
Aside from not having physical copies of games, is there any downside to going for a digital PS5 console?

Beethoven
But no, you can still keep games in your 'library' even if uninstall to make for space for different games. I do miss putting in physical copies of everything, haven't put a DVD or game in in ages though. If I ever upgrade I'm definitely going digital, even as a collector guy. Convenience.

Golf simulators do expose areas of your game that you may be in denial about thought. I've played a Trackman a few times this winter and it's really slapped me across the face with the fact that my swing speed is a joke. I can hide it on the golf course by compensating in other areas. Chip close to the hole or drain a 12 foot putt and it's easy to forget my last drive only went 185 yards lol.

Had to look up a Trackman but essentially this is more the simulators you see at a golf shop/single use? I know those can tell you a thing or too but there's no chance that translates to the actual outdoors hitting clubs for me. The simulators here are all social gatherings, you get a booth, a simulator, and pitchers of beer and hit around these courses on these dumb screens, off this shitty turf. I'd rather go to the range at the least, they have heaters here, you are physically seeing the results which beats a simulator for me. One of my work friends uses these simulators every week, has every good club, equipment, watches videos daily, all this shit and he still has meltdown rounds. His game has improved like 5-10% at best over the years I've known him. Probably because it's better to have a clearer head sometimes and just hit. Best trick I've ever even learned is holding a credit card under your armpit to stay close to your body, cost me $0.

Russel Coight
4 hours ago, Matt. said: Aside from not having physical copies of games, is there any downside to going for a digital PS5 console? Digital tends to be more expensive when buying new games ($20-30 more than in a store here) although sales happen on the store often enough if you don’t care about getting new games close to release. You also can’t resell digital games when you’re done with them. Other than that they’re the same tech wise.
Speedo
I think you and Jan have made up my mind. Cheaper games would be cool but not a deal breaker and I don’t resell games anyway. Digital is gonna be the way I go.

Selling to like gamestop or whatever gets you a little more than the gas to get down there now. They offered me $5 per game last time, but you can sell it close to full price online somewhere if want to go through that hassle.

Dude I hate hate supporting the digital/streams movement, but I only play the same 2-3 games, so being able to just flip between them while laying on my couch still is pretty nice routine but I hate it at the same time, it's just a different time. It's also obviously pretty easy to just load up the ps store on there, download/buy what you are wanting and have it added to the homepage as well. You have to install whatever disc you buy anyways so the whole digital thing is there regardless of physical copy or not. It's not like the good ol days where you put in a disc and play, so that's what kind of did it for me. These ps4 controllers still drive me mad and are fucking trash, so let me know if it's worth getting a ps5 or not, I know their controllers are 10x better and the only reason I'd switch. Last of us pt 1 : ps store $124.95 jbhifi - $109 Amazon - $94.95 by resell I meant like Facebook marketplace or things like that. Single player game you only wanna play once and finish within a month of release you could get pretty close to 50% back easily.
