anders182
i wonder if they did a collab with mumford and sons on one of the songs...
Russel Coight
Goku Tom isn't the only one hyping it, mark and Travis are too. Travis said its 100 times better then neighborhoods. So yeah, once again can we stop just targeting Tom?This was hardly targeting Tom in a negative way or anything. More just a be mindful of taking everything the cunt says with a grain of salt. dildo69er
haha exactly, every album has been better than the last according to him and love pt 2 was worse than flyswatter lol. Everyone involved will say its the best because if they didnt they would be idiots.
Russel Coight
It's called marketing. If they came out and said "oh it's good but not our best. Maybe 3rd or 4th best we've done but you should still buy it!" Do you think they'd sell anywhere near as much?
Cookies
I don't remember Neighbourhoods being hyped up as "the best thing they've ever done".
blink--182
I don't remember Neighbourhoods being hyped up as "the best thing they've ever done".they said it a few times.the difference was that tom didnt hype it like he does it now.i'm pretty sure that going independent pushed him like hell.when blink was still signed to a label he might have had the feeling"well, let the record company do the marketing - that's what they are paid for".and now he is in full control and he loves that, as we all know
Dancing_with_myself
I think Tom was more excited about 'love pt2' coming out at the time, rather than Neighbourhoods. But it does seem like he is uber excited for this blink record, which is only good for us.

Zoltan
but you can feel if they say it honestly, when they are really excited.an mtv.com interview must contain the line "it will be the best ever", so it means nothing... but when they recording the tracks, and randomly tweet about how good the songs will be, well, that makes the difference.why will this ep be better than neighborhoods? because we don't ruin the expectancy by stating in advance that the songs can't be good because they write them separately. i still think if you didn't know the background story of neighborhoods, you'd consider it a better album ("still not the best album, but all these by the reuited blink-182!"... in contrary now you think "these aren't even blink-182 songs, these are mark songs and tom songs"). so let them hype and don't complain. we'll see in a month what we get.
Mau5
The logic makes sense if it didn't happen every album that Tom has ever released. Ever since Self-Titled, Tom has hyped literally every single release he has had a part in. WDNTW was going to be the rebirth of Rock and Roll. Star of Bethlehem was supposed to be a masterpiece. Love was supposed to be an 'epic'. Love part 2 was supposed to be a musical masterpiece within a film. Neighborhoods was supposed to be a perfect blend of genres and blink. Every single thing Tom has said has been an overhyping beyond belief; people are delusional to think Tom's words are something other than a marketing ploy. That being said, I do believe that Tom thinks these things are indeed true. I just don't think he's looking at it from an objective point of view. _Kyle_
I remember Tom saying TOYPAJ will bring world peace or something similar. He just has a sense of humor.
Cookies
He was actually joking when he said that, when he said WDNTW was gonna be the best rock album ever and when's he's tweeting now, about dogs eating dogs, he's dead serious. He just doesn't have a problem with shameless self-promotion and he's said that, when he's writing music, he gets really involved in it, so it prolly is the best thing ever to him. But, even saying that, I still don't think Neighbourhoods was as hyped as the rest.
