bennett Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 not a big fan of the band myself, but definitely a shocker Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We've gotten to go places we never knew we would. We've been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We've shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure. http://absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=3091151 Quote
radioactive tomdog Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 not surpsied and it probably should have been done a while ago. i'll always remember them for three cheers, but everything else was just kind of average. Quote
Pussay Patrol Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 It's pretty surprising because there'd supposedly been 6 songs recorded for their next release I really loved Black Parade and Danger Days, two of my favourite albums. Didn't even really like the early stuff so I was looking forward to what they did next. Quote
Tyler☮ Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Never was a fan, but this is probably because the Mikey guy cheated on his wife. Quote
Ghost Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Woah. Didn't see that coming. Weren't they working on a new release? Quote
Pussay Patrol Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Woah. Didn't see that coming. Weren't they working on a new release?Yep, supposedly 6 songs in and built their own studio to record it in Quote
platypus409 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 I thought The Black Parade was an amazing concept album. The first song on that album is amazing and draws inspiration from Pink Floyd's song In The Flesh? and from David Bowies song Five Years. I didn't really like any other album they put out except for some catchy singles. Quote
Privateeye0 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Bit of a shame as I relly enjoyed Three Cheers and the latest b-side album. Hopefully a couple of bands are made from the split. Quote
M!ke Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 I'm honestly a little disappointed by this, I used to hate the band, but I was really turning on them, especially after seeing them open for blink twice, their shows were a lot of fun, or at least at that time they were. I saw them open for Green Day in '05, and they sucked back then. 1 Quote
Ghost Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 I think Danger Days was not well received, although it is a great record. Maybe not well understood, but is a solid one. Also, Conventional Weapons is great. I preffer those two last records. Quote

Agreed, i saw the 05 green day tour as well, it could of been the arena but i could barley hear the dude sing on that tour and i was 1- feet from the stage, then i heard them at warped that summer and they sounded great. Mau5 Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Fuck......been playing Conventional Weapons non-stop over the last few weeks. Really disappointed in this...they're definitely one of my favorite bands in terms of album releases. The theatrics, concepts, and themes have always interested me despite Danger Days being my least favorite album they've put out. Check this song out though, off their last album and honestly one of the best they've ever written Quote
High Value Man Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 I saw them open for Blink twice and it was two totally different shows. The first show had so much energy and the lead singer talked a lot. Secoond show he must have had a bug up his ass or something because he didn't say anything and had no energy. He seriously seemed angry. Maybe it was the crowd chanting "Blink" during their set. _Kyle_ Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Usually they feed off of that. Saw them twice and they were fantastic both times. Quote
Cookies Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 I love their first album but I've only liked 1 or 2 songs from the rest, and I didn't like Danger Days at all so I'm not too bothered by this. Quote
.Nick Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Saw them on an old SNl today and it reminded how much I used to like them, now I see this.. Weird. Quote
