Melty Mark Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I only mean that I hope he can live a somewhat normal life and not straight up die. 1 Quote
radioactive tomdog Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 one would think being told "one more drink and you're literally dead" would be enough to force him to get better. but, addiction is addiction. he's only 34 and looks like he's 45 there. his reasons for drinking were so dumb. he basically stated in that self made documentary about himself that he just wanted to party like the rolling stones. but its pretty clear that not even they were as stupid as him. Truth. And I'm sure at some point, he'll think, well if I can't drink, maybe I'll just do (insert terrible drug here) instead. Quote
Ghent Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Wow he looks like hell. You've got to be a major major alcoholic for that to happen at his age. True alcoholics seem to at least make age 50 or so before it catches up to them to that extent. All signs point to him not being the smartest character around. Quote

People that are straight up alcoholics, usually look overweight, not skinny as a twig. Granted a year ago we were all criticizing how bloated he looked. So how did he go from being so bloated to such a skeletor? I think way harder drugs were also a factor here. Quote
radioactive tomdog Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 he was still kinda bloated in the hospital pictures on the first page. kidney and liver failure sound like a pretty easy way to lose weight. Quote
Melty Mark Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Random swelling is a symptom of cirrhosis and liver failure. It's pretty common that the parotid gland will swell, a beer belly is the most common but that isn't always how it is. Random example of parotid swelling with cirrhosis of the liver: Derick Whibley before and after years of abuse: Quote
Speedo Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Kidney failure will do that to you, I watched it happen in my grandfather before he passed. Its not hard druga. Quote
radioactive tomdog Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 his new fiance is so much better looking than avril. feel bad for her. she could do better. Quote
radioactive tomdog Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 even aside from the alcoholism, he's always been a cocky douchebag. i'm a fan of his music and i wish he would in fact change, but he'll always have that "rockstar" attitude. Quote
IenjoyLongWalks Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I always thought he looked like shit anyway. 1 Quote
Mau5 Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 He deserved it, that corporate sell out...where's all this new Sum 41 music he's been boasting about all over his page anyways? "New songs"? Pfft, get real - it's just ridiculous how selfish this man can be; he has a duty to us fans to be the entertainer we expect him to be and not cop out on this lame-ass excuse as being an "alcoholic". And is that a receding hairline I see!? KARMA MAN! 2 Quote
Fun, Catchy Pop-Punk Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Yeah he probably had more issues than just alcohol, something like pain killers would make sense. Sad that it's come to this. Quote
Scott. Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Jesus, that pic really sad to see him like that. Sum 41 came before Blink for me. Hope he gets better soon. Quote

fElon Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I feel bad for the guy....I hope he makes it....but quitting alcohol cold turkey and never having another drink.....the odds aren't in his favor. Even for the people who do quit, most have some type of relapse prior to that. The idea that he can't have a single drink for the rest of his life; thats tough. Especially given his lifestyle. 1 Quote
