Elisa Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 Dan's voice makes me so happy. They sound great, it's so good to see them together. Quote
radioactive tomdog Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 great vocals from both of them here Quote
Ghost Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 Yeah, good performance. There's a thing Matt started to do a few years ago that really pisses me off. The way he ends some notes, like in a loose way, instead of sustain that note. I don't know, I noticed he started to do that while touring was extensive or he was tyred. But somehow he does it from time to time. Quote
Ghost Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Raspy Matt is good Matt. Still Mike Felumlee on drums (who, by the way, has great music solo). 1 Quote
Ghost Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 Gotta love how they arrange some songs acoustically. Very simple, but only a few spots here and there, played by Derek. Also, amazing backing vocals. Quote
Kay Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Christ I love All On Black. such a weird song. I think Continental is still my fave Alk3 song though. Quote
Ghost Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 I really like this interview. Didn't saw it until now. Quote
Ghost Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 I don't remember if this was posted before. This came out as a bonus DVD with This Addiction. I really like the show, althoug it has a weird EQ. Not the best setlist, but is pretty decent. Gonna miss this guys. Quote
thongrider Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 I've listened to all the albums from GD to TA now. I'm on My Shame Is True now. This has been a strange journey. MSIT is definitely the one I've listened to least. Quote
Ghost Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 That's a lot of stuff to digest if you did it all in a row, hahaha. What's the album you've enjoyed the most on the first listen? Quote
thongrider Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 I listened to them chronologically over a month and it's not my first listen, it was probably just the first time I listened to them all chronologically. What I've discovered: I still really love Agony and Irony, that album has a special place for me. I remember being so excited about it coming out that I listened to all the other records while I waited and I ended up with two copies cause I was so eager to get it. I think it's really great still. I really can't get into Good Mourning, don't know why. Crimson was my first Alk 3 album and that one still holds up as well. This Addiction has some really good songs like "Eating Me Alive" and "Dead on the Floor", it's sort of aged well, I guess. My Shame Is True has some really cool music on it, especially in "One Last Dance", I think it was. But the songs aren't very good, and I feel like most of them are rehashes of old, and better songs. There's a song with a chorus that's identical to "This Could Be Love". The best song on the album is definitely "Only Love". Maybe one of my favorite Dan songs, the second best is "She Lied to the FBI". The Warhol song is definitely a song with great music in it, but the song still sort of falls short for me. Quote
Ghost Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Oh, I see. I feel you on the Agony & Irony thing. Is one of my favs too. My waiting process was exactly the same as yours, haha, except for the buying twice thing. I was excited as hell when they released Help Me, In Vein and Calling All Skeletons prior to the album release. Quote
Kay Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 I always thought Agony and Irony and This Addiction were boring as all hell, My Shame Is True is not as good as their older stuff but has some great tracks like Kiss You To Death. Good Mourning and From Here To Infirmary will always be my favourites. Speaking of alk3, I recently did an acoustic rendition of "Mr Chainsaw" at a gig, and some dude in the audience screamed when I said what I was about to play and sang along with me the entire time super loudly. Best reaction to a cover I've ever had tbh 1 Quote

I never thought I'd win so I bought when I went on holiday. A few months later I got my prize in the mail. Quote
Kay Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Danzig sings like a fucking gagged donkey these days though. hey @Ghost you ever heard of Radkey? the lead singer is this lanky kid who sounds just like Danzig. it's mental. Quote
