Jan isn't wrong. It's not bad, but it's a by the numbers Alkaline Trio song. Put it on any of the past few releases and it'd fit right in because it's that homogeneous. They need to experiment with different tones and sounds imo.

Ok I finally listened to the song, but I don't like it, it sounds like a generic and poppier song from My Shame Is True (there are only 3 good songs on that album), they shouldn't have released new music so soon, BH&E is still their best work since Crimson.

If I had to choose between this and the Goldfinger song, I’d probably still go with the Goldfinger one.

Beautiful song - it really sounds great. Surprise Surprise is my favorite they’ve put out this year by far. It’s already in one of my playlists.

Like this one a lot. Feels like a quintessential Alkaline Trio song.  Might have to go back and listen to BH&E again some more.

Skiba would go really well on an AvA song as a feature, random thought.  Rip to that band don’t need anymore but it really would be up his alley, more than blink stuff.

I don't know but the youtube version sounds like too much pitch corrected on voice.

But the song is great.

yes i was surprised but i guess, when travis is producing, with john golden hair feldy not far behind... cant quite dodge the autotune treatment, shame cuz if theres someone who aboslutly not need tha tis def matt but yes great song regardless

I'm going through their albums chronologically now. Listened to Crimson today. First of their I bought. Still holds up. Was awesome after the dud that was Good Mourning.

Crimson is great, the first time Is I saw them live was in support of that album. But I really love Good Mourning as well too. Great songs on there!

I agree, the best parts of the Skiba era of Blink was in fact Skiba. I would have loved to hear what they would have done next.
