Seeing them in Glasgow, From Here To Infirmary, front to back, fucking excellent.

Saw them last April also, ticket prices were couple of pounds more this year. Great band live.

-Help Me

-Private Eye

-Armageddon

-Warbrain

-I Wanna Be A Warhol

-Calling All Skeletons

-The American Scream

-This Addiction

-Lead Poisoning

-Hell Yes

-This Could Be Love

I've gotta keep listening to more of their stuff though, still feel like I'm missing a lot of good tunes. Any suggestions for songs that stand out to you guys?

Years ago I used to have all of their music on my computer but now I only have the albums with Stupid Kid and Calling All Skeletons on them (obviously I don't know this band that well, I can't even remember the album names). Wanna check out their other stuff again. What would you guys say is their best album?

I really love Good Mourning. A lot of people would probably say Goddammit though I imagine. From Here to Infirmary is good too. Crimson is still pretty solid, and then it drops off a bit for me. I probably need to give their newest album more of a chance though. Also, even the newer albums that I don't love are still pretty good. I don't think they've ever done anything that I can't stand to the level that Sum 41 or Greenday has.

I always rate FHTI and Good Mourning as there bests, at least for me.

I really enjoy the compilations. Some of their best songs are on those like Goodbye Forever, Bleeder, My Friend Peter, Cooking Wine, Queen of Pain, Warbrain, Fine Without You and Buried. Plus they really showcase the progression from songs with twisted humor to songs about death and misery. I always found it weird that they all of a sudden decided to start dressing like corpses on stage during Good Mourning instead of looking like normal people.

Well, the dark refferences were there since the early years. Maybe not on the "dress code" but on the lyrics and stuff. I think the dress code came, specially, when Derek Grant joined the band, a period in which they were really trying to hit a bigger audience. Then, you had this cocktail: Skiba and Grant tendencies about darkness, Church of Satan, The Misfits, The Damness and what not -I mean, Skiba is a huge fan of Vanian, so...), and a period in time which was, don't forget it, full of emo-ness and dark imaginery (even Mest tryed to jump to that train in Photographs). So, I think that period was a kind of fueling context on that purpose.

Anyways, I like how they looked those years. As I said, pretty classic and elegant:

Ultimately having a 'theme' about yourself as a band does make a difference. if you think about how much bigger they got (consider Crimson success wise) it clearly paid off. bands are a dime a dozen, if you have anything that sticks out you've got a selling point.

Also Interpol made the suit look popular and maybe their version was a splash of red?

Yeah, can be. Of course, Alkaline Trio were not the first ones to wear suits on stage and promo stuff, hahaha.

Pretty sure the dressing up like "corpses" started before GM, I was watching their live DVD from 2002 the other day and they were dressed up like corpses in that

Live at the Metro. It was a Halloween party, yeah. All the paraphernalia was included. Inverted crucifix and what not.

Ties and guyliner really were the trend 2003-2007 with MCR and Green Day and whatnot being huge. It's never been my cup of tea though since I like bands that dress like I would and look like they could be my neighbours. The music is great though but I'm not a big fan of Gothic imagery.

And speaking of 2003-2007, why did the drop they second guitarist that they had aboard for a couple of years?

Also I just recently found this rarity:

Matt's voice really was shred to pieces during that time. Great set though and it bums me out that there isn't more footage from 2003-2004 lying around.
