Cool fact : this must be probably one of the very first live performances (if not) of the song "Mutt", the song was released in February 1998 on the Taylor's Steele's surf video "The Show" I wonder why there's not much footage of that tour as this is the second full show that we have from that tour (the other footage being 2/23/1998) hmmm In comparison, we have more than 9 footage from the Warped Tour 1997! Did that video have version with Scott on the drums?

Man, I don't know if anyone else is as obsessed with Tom's signature strats as me, but this picture really does make me think his first prototype was Seafoam Green and not Surf Green.

blinkstillrules
@daveyjones @FAPLORD Tom never had a seafoam green strat (at least that I have ever seen). Seafoam green is very blueish. The redditors insist he's had seafoam but he hasn't. I'm a regular on the subreddit. It generates plenty of downvotes to say this but it's true. Tom didn't have a seafoam green strat. I don't get the obsession with insisting he did. Seafoam is a cool color though so maybe that's why. His one prototype strat with the tremolo bridge and the selector switch cutout in the pickguard is aged sweat pea/faded surf green. You will see it called seafoam green ad nauseam. It's not. Seafoam is very much blueish in color. His hard tail with the punker guy fret inlays (that neck is now on Padre) is surf green. It was in the WMAA video. This is the strat I replicated. The big difference between mine and the real one is the bridge. I used the Fender American flat mount hardtail bridge that was used on the majority of his signature strats. This early strat however had a vintage hardtail bridge. The saddles are a dead giveaway. But to stay on topic, this one was surf green. It's my favorite of his signature strats. @Q182 if I'm missing something, chime in brah.

There was no seafoam green Strat made for Tom, only those two green guitars (Surf and Sweet Pea). Everyone on Reddit preaches to the bible of littleredguitars2 and everything he said/continues to say. Even one of the mods of that sub, who I've spoken with and is a super nice guy, got downvoted trying to discuss this further. @FAPLORDif you have any questions about Tom's guitars, ask any of us. Everyone on reddit is indeed full of shit.

But Yea I don’t agree with the aged sweet pea at all. I’ve seen that mentioned on the sub Reddit. The first prototype I think was either seafoam green or surf green. But if you look at that picture I quoted above, it looks very much like seafoam green as it is appears a little darker and more vibrant than surf green. I think the issue is pictures of Tom are usually under different lighting which makes the colors look different. But back to the sweet pea…this looks like puke and Tom certainly never had this color
